I really think Bob's done an amazing job with this one. I'm a big Van man but my first instinct was I prefer Bob's version. He's really interpreting the lyrics simply and beautifully.

Van is playing gigs!  Played Electric Ballroom on 6th September...

Inimitable and seemingly indefatigable, like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison has apparently arrived at the "endless tour" stage of his career, where the road is his home. In a time before coronavirus, Morrison, who is now 75, was probably performing more regularly than at any other time in his life, and he evidently has no intention of letting the small matter of a global pandemic get in his way.

If Van is playing the Palladium next week, will the Rats play there in early October?

Van Morrison has accused the government of "taking our freedom" in three new songs that protest against the coronavirus lockdown.

In the lyrics, he claims scientists are "making up crooked facts" to justify measures that "enslave" the population.

"The new normal, is not normal," he sings. "We were born to be free".

...

The Brown Eyed Girl songwriter has already played three socially-distanced gigs this month, and has two shows at The London Palladium next week but he says these types of concerts are unsustainable and he is worried about the future of live music.

Van has been rescheduled?

https://lwtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/van-morrison/

Van Morrison will now perform three nights at The London Palladium on Wed 23, Thu 24 and Fri 25 September 2020, which will adhere to the Governments social distancing guidelines. If you have tickets for either of the September shows, you should have received an email from us on Fri 11 September with more information.

He was due to debut these songs during his London Palladium shows later this month, but both have now been postponed to March 2021 following, er,  government advice.
