Gigs of 2021/2022/2023

Despite CoVid, a fair number of gigs in 2021

  1. Boomtown Rats - Dagenham - Best live performance from The Rats since Cork.  Short near perfect set.  Even the eponymous song worked with the confetti cannons fired at the end.
  2. Maximo Park - Earth - stunning set from a band I have failed to see too often down the years.  But now I have will be looking out to see them again.
  3. Stone Valley South - Ware - only did 2 of 3 days, but worth it to see great sets Hugh Cornwell, From The Jam, Nevile Staples Specials and of course, The Boomtown Rats.  Undertones were pretty underwhelming Saturday headliners. And Jimmy Pursey has morphed into Iggy Pop!  Great festival.
  4. Jarv Is - Roundhouse - Great show, and the added bonus of bookending the gig with classic Pulp songs namely Shes A Lady and My Legendary Girlfriend
  5. Boomtown Rats - Palladium - Best seat I have ever had for a Rats gig, saw the reds of their eyes.  A few too many new songs in set at the expense of great old songs and a pretty short set given tickets cost £50
  6. EXTC - 100 Club - Just Terry Chambers on drums, a solid if unspectacular run through the XTC back catalogue.  Shame only three songs from English Settlement were in the set.
