Bob rated " Ghost Town" as the best song of the 80s.    Who else thinks that song could of a been a Rats' classic -  The falsetto backing singing, the hammond organ- the Rats were getting into ska /reggae at the time as well

Sadly, there will be more and more musicians from my era passing away as time goes by.  Very few bands from the 1970s have all of their main line ups alive and kicking. Slade are one, but none of them talk to each other anymore.  Likewise The Jam.

I regret never seeing Terry Hall in the Specials live, though I have seen Neville Staples incarnation a couple of times.  Terry Hall not only did some great work with Specials and Fun Boy Three, he also had a solo career and made a superb single, named Forever J which was remixed by Pulp.

So true sadly. RIP Terry. A stunning back catalogue as a legacy. I will check out Forever J. Some of his later work was cruelly overlooked. I liked Terry, Blair & Anouchka with American musician Blair Booth and jeweller Anouchka Grose.

Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes was cheesey in parts, but no less good for that.

Amazon Music now playing Some Fantastic Place by Squeeze on the 'similar songs' principle I assume.

That's no bad thing either.

After the splendid Forever J. I had posted how that had been a great 4 minutes. Not sure where it went.

The post, that is. Not the 4 mins!
