I might do a Rats festival if its close to London otherwise I cannot really be bothered with festivals.Cant they play a proper stand up gig which is not to difficult to get to.

I suspect its all about the money. I dont think the Rats have sold out a gig in their own right for many a year. Well not with full price tickets. Festivals are a guaranteed pay day. They played Stone Valley (Ware) and Dagenham a couple of years ago, both of which are close to London.
Regarding London (and nearby) festivals, there are a few possibilities.
Pub in the Park takes place in Chiswick, which would be handy for Pete Briquette.
Crystal Palace (South Facing) has a few summer dates. This year there was an Iggy Pop/Blondie/Buzz****s/Stiff Little Fingers/Generation Sex day, so maybe there could be something like a Damned/Stranglers/Rats + others day next year.
Hampton Court/Audley End have heritage days, so every chance of Rats being on a bill like that.
Greenwich has some dates in early July, ditto Kew.
The Sunshine Music Festival, in Upton-upon-Severn, has just wrapped up another year, but organisers are already looking ahead to 2024.
Next year will be the 15-year anniversary of the event, and Boomtown Rats and Belinda Carlisle have already been confirmed as the first two headliners.
Steve High, of the Sunshine Music Festival, said: "We are really happy to have Boomtown Rats and Belinda Carlisle confirmed for next year.
I dont suppose The Rats would play Stone Valley South again. Would be good if they headlined on Sunday.
Support for The Damned on the Saturday is less than inspiring
The Stranglers are down to play on Sunday as headliners with some pretty decent support. Shame Ruts DC and From The Jam are on the Friday (supporting The Sherlocks? - no sh!t) as they would be better ahead of The Damned on Saturday. Given lasts years experience of not been able to make on the day, I will hold off on getting my ticket for Sunday. Shame Butlins dont do the weekend away anymore.
