Who needs enemies when you have friends like this? Bob and Billy Connolly have been friends for years. There is even a pic of them together at the Faversham house in his Autobiography. So this article seems a bit like stabbing him in the back. Of course, it may be due to specific editing. You don't know what else he said. A fallout is much more newsworthy.

I saw this and I do wonder if it has been taken out of context. It is the Sunday Mail after all!

And in the same paper, apparently:

Yep, they don't call it the "Sunday Retard" for nothing (being as it is the Sunday edition of the Daily Record - known as the "Daily Retard" for it's journalism making "The Sun" look like "The Times" in comparison)

As for Connolly, he's turned into a sad desperate old attention seeker. Last month he was on about how he & Sean Connory were going to either take over Partick Thistle (the so-called non-sectarian soccer club of Glasgow...where the local Orange Orders do their practices at before the "marching season", ho hum...) or resurrect Third Lanark (former major Glasgow soccer side closed in extremely dubious circumstances in 1967). Little was heard about it thereafter.

I reckon it's been taken out of context. It could even have been a tongue-in-cheek remark for all we know. Bob's spokesman was just right not to comment.

And Robbie did good with the socceraid thingy. It made for good television, and I'm sure there were a lot of us cheering when Jonathan Wilkes scored that goal. I hope they raised a packet.
