What can we expect next year?.

Well its the 50th birthday of the Rats next year so what can we expect.I am guessing some new songs possibly with a kind of best of and some live dates(both festivals and my gut feeling Dublin).Time will tell.

The end?

I don't see the Rats going on beyond 2025. Especially without Garry Roberts. Geldof may well resume his solo career.

I expect a few live dates. Predominantly festivals but maybe standalone gigs in London and/or Dublin. Worth noting there are fewer festivals, even the Rewind/Let's Rock festivals are reducing in numbers.

Not sure there will be any new releases as neither Ratlife, Citizens nor Back of Boomtown made much impact and there doesn't seem to be the demand for the LPs to be reissued nor another hits album. Even the movie disappeared without trace.

Whatever happens, we should probably make the most of it.

Idle speculation, but I wouldnt be shocked if the Rats were headlining Cork and/or Dublin. Book your hotel now.

Rewind South will take place, as usual, at Temple Island Meadows, Henley- on-Thames, from August 15-17.  2025 also sees the launch of Rewind at Dreamland in Margate, Kent as a one-day event on June 14, and in Ireland, Rewind Dublin on June 1 and Rewind Cork on June 21

PS Rewind South day tickets are about £76 at ticketmaster.com. Expect similar elsewhere.

A possible festival - weekend tickets for £79 - which is pretty good value.

Stone Valley Festival South 23rd - 25th May 2025

SVF MIDLANDS 27th-29th June 2025

SVF NORTH 8th-10th August 2025

Another possibility are support slots. ELO play final gig at BST Hyde Park next summer.

 Unlikely.  Besides I can't afford it. £373.50 + £5 booking fee...

... and two days getting out of the car park at the end smile

Like the aborted NZ/AUS Rats tour a decade or so ago, I can't imagine much demand for this down under, especially when they are charging top dollar.

Thanks for that. Wonder if they will play Stone Valley South the night before...

Thanks, at around 11 minutes.  If it is a CD it should be the 50 best tracks which should just about squeeze on.  As for an LP, I guess 24 maximum or more likely 20.  Not so sure about new songs though.

Or something like this  https://boomtownrats.activeboard.com/t71093425/boomtown-rats-50th-anniversary-reissues/

 Not a bad prediction

These dates are still available.  PIL headline Fridays, so maybe Rats on Saturdays and Stranglers on Sundays.

Supporting Roger Daltrey at Audley End on Fri 1 August TBC.  (However I am sure I have mentioned Heritage Live as a possibility in the past).

Support for ELO yet to be announced, but be warned it is sold out - unbelievably!
