This is weird.  In Eddy's article "An incredible history sometimes funny!" he recounts being asked by Tina & Ian about a cucumber!  And not just an ordinary cucumber, but an inflatable one .?????? jawdrop.gif

Does anyone know what they're on about or is it obvious and there's something I'm missing ???? imslow.gif

I'd imagine it was a promo item from the Vegetarians of Love era.

I think it was a prop used for Veggies of Love album cover, just from memory. Sounds very weird though and rather dodgy.

Thanks everyone for the explanation. It seemed to me that Eddy didn't have a clue what the cucumber was (though that may be in the translation), and if anyone would've known I'd have thought it would be him.  Perhaps he didn't know because there weren't many about ...

Eddy knew exactly what the cucumber was about, as he had one of the rare items. My understanding is that he was puzzled by Ian's insistence on getting the said cucumber.

I'm sorry Eddy has had so much trouble getting his stuff returned.  I haven't had my things back at all but I didn't send anywhere near as much as Eddy.

Not quite sure why we are talking cucumbers again.  And we do have one here hanging in the office.  ArrGee if you need to enquire about anything, I think I mentioned before the best thing to do is to phone me.  This is my number XXXX XXXXXX.  This is Ian's number by the way.  I am not sure what the point is really, but no doubt you will enlighten us.   I think it might be about some of the stuff that was used on the Geldof Anthology - we had quite a lot of stuff sent to us including Eddy's, and Ian Westwood's etc....

The record company picked what they wanted to use for the sleeves.  Is that where we are coming from?  If so thats the answer.

Regarding the point you made about why Ian doens't post for himself.  Now you have his number you can ask him yourself.  Get it all direct from Ian and that should allay all concerns and queries.

Hope this has helped.

First of all, -please do not post your phone number, use a PM.

Secondly, wasn't I informed that geldof.info was to have nothing to do with me from your manager ?

Firstly, sorry if I have broken your code of conduct regarding phone numbers.  But I really dont mind it being public and if it avoids a lot of misunderstandings or breakdown in communication then its fine by me.  But if those are your rules then i understand and respect them.

I would like to point out that I was a bit taken aback to read private emails that were send to/from us and Eddy, but thats all in the past.  I dont know what the protocol is for making private emails public, but you make the rules and thats fine.

With regard to management telling us to have nothing to do with you - I presume you are talking about Willo - its all a bit silly really.  I think us being blamed for everything from the atomic bomb to cancelled gigs was the reason for it.  But I am really not fussed about  that. Giving people access to ask things directly should go someway to alleviate this.

The Eddy saga - is long gone - to this day I am bewildered.  As you quite rightly pointed out he did get benefit, like I spent a lot of time sorting out his Live 8 Golden Circle ticket and thats part of the deal.

One thing that always struck me about the Milan gig, and I am reluctant to bring this up really, but everyone from the forum who could get there, did get free flights and tickets to the gig - this is never mentioned.  Bob went out of his way in my eyes to do something nice to make amends for those who were disappointed.

The emails were on eddy's site so were in the public domain. A forum member pasted them here. When i get to a pc i will edit.
Too tricky on phone.

I think it is tough on everyone when a concert gets cancelled and emotions get do get very high.I have had 4 concerts cancelled on me(3 here in Denmark and 1 in London) and it really annoyed me when the one in London was called of.My cost for the trip to England was minimal as I have family in London I can stay with but it was the fact that it was called of at the last moment was what really upset me.I have no idea how I will react should it happen again.

Simply because I mentioned it in the mingle post, so was providing context for newer members.
