Geldof TV/Radio/Live Diary

ADD ANY GELDOF APPEARANCES YOU HEAR OF IN THIS THREAD.  PUT AS MUCH INFORMATION IN AS YOU CAN.  DON'T WORRY ABOUT RETROSPECTIVE ENTRIES, AS THEY ARE OFTEN ACCOMPANIED WITH A DELAYED WEB CAST.

(Scottie - Why are you editing this all the time?)

That's a joke, right ?!

I posted a Geldof gig, aired on german TV a few weeks ago. TWO SONGS LIVE !! I never saw them and believe me, Eddy and I may have the biggest Rats and Bob solo footage from all of us. Nobody answered to my thread. I really feel sad. I contacted that german TV channel for to get copy, which they denied. I'm sort of angry now. I just want to get this. I told anybody of ya here and I know there are Germans, too.

Sorry guys, it's pssing me off not get these two Live perfomances. Nothing personal. Hope you understand my feelings.

I THINK, not 100% sure, that Bob is a guest on David Walliams show on James Bond, Thursday 9pm on ITV. I did read somewhere that he was on it.

It's being shown on ITV Central at 9 pm on Thursday too. No mention of Bob. Neither is he mentioned in my TV mag, but it refers to 'other celebs'... so here's hoping!

( I have put this on the main thread as well, as not everybody reads this bit)

Bob Geldof heads a list of high-profile campaigners against world poverty being honoured by Newcastle University early in the New Year.

Bob Geldof, who received a Knighthood in 1986, will be joined by His Excellency Benjamin William Mpaka, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania; Susan George, political economist and author of a dozen books on hunger, debt, international institutions and North-South issues; and Dr David Golding, Development Co-ordinator of Make Poverty History North East.

The four will receive Honorary Doctor of Civil Law degrees from the Chancellor of Newcastle University, the Right Honourable Lord Patten of Barnes CH, during a special ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the anti-poverty movement, Make Poverty History. The ceremony will be held at The Sage Gateshead on Monday 8 January 2007, beginning at 2.00 pm.

The University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Edwards, said: 'Newcastle University was the first higher education institution in the world formally to pledge its support for the Jubilee Debt Campaign, and staff and students have backed the Make Poverty History Campaign. Earlier this year, the University gained Fairtrade status for its commitment to supporting ethical trading.

'By honouring these individuals, we are recognising their dedication to eradicating debt and hunger in the developing world – aims which we as an institution share and applaud', he added.

Immediately after the ceremony, an audience of invited guests and members of the public will have the opportunity to take part in a debate on the theme of world poverty, with the panel of honorary graduates, chaired by Lord Patten.

To apply for tickets to the ceremony, please send a request to worldpoverty@ncl.ac.uk
