Just so you know, I am trying to get Sir Bob a concert or maybe a speaking engagement in the state of Washington. I have contacted the San Juan De Fuca Festival staff and Paul Allen at the Experience Music Project. I hope to hear from someone this week.
I did give out the site emails and phone numbers provided on the bobgeldof.com website. I hope Tina and Ian are helpful with providing me with some names to contact. Is Wilo the man who arranges Bob's concerts? He sounds a little strange - being generous in my description - so I hope someone else will respond!
If anybody has any other contacts or ideas, let me know.
If he comes to Port Angeles, my home can hold 8 guests! Maybe Sir Bob will stay over! That would be a blast, wouldn't it? Boy can I fantasize, eh?
bob geldof is represented by the leighton pope organistion london info@l-po.com
you can also send any requests to his tour manager via the website bobgeldof.info
willo is a very good tour manager and seems to get a lot of grief which is uncalled for he does alot of nice things for people it was willo and tina who arranged flights and tickets for people to go to the milan gig last week

May I say that getting Tina to send a note to forum members calling me a knob/knobhead would not be one of the nicest things he has done. I have seen other email conversations with Willo that suggest the grief he gets is called for.
i do not think that kh comment was advisable but i can t find the message or e mail that instigated it i guess he was just being protective towards tina but nevertheless he is darn good at his job tour managing is a thankless task no-one ever praises when things go right but are quick to criticise when things do not go quite to plan but thats Rock n Roll
willo or the leighton pope organistion are the only people who deal with Bob Geldof live dates so you have no need to worry about tina not answering your e mails but as far i know there are no dates planned for Hungrey in the near future

Well, that's the thing. I don't know what I wrote, but my name is blackened. You saw the message I was sent. There was no indication of what caused such offence. If it had been pointed out to me, maybe we could have discussed it like adults. Instead, he called me a knob/knobhead. And he wasn't brave enough to name me. Just an insinuation.
I don't know exactly what a tour manager does, but I would have thought he was at least partly responsible for the booking of venues, the price of tickets and so on. If these things are part of his remit, then given the number of concerts cancelled/postponed over the last twelve months, I would question how good a tour manager he is.
i need to get to the bottom of this but it may take a while something happend on the board that got the press crawling all over us but i can t find out if this was what caused the friction
tour manager deals with all the day to day aspects of life on the road .The booking of venues ticket prices advertising are delt with by the agents
i ve answerd your e mails Reka the best way i can if you think a festival concert venue or promoter may be interested in presenting a Bob Geldof concert all they need to do is contact the leighton pope organistion the contact is on this thread and will soon be on contacts section of bobgeldof.info

I think you need to be very tough in rock n roll, you get crap, that's part of it. I'd avoid it like the plague myself, couldn't deal with that.
Reka, I think you ought to go to the organisers of the events, rather than to Bob's agent. You need to know if they would like him to attend, or have room for him etc. They may well have already got everyone they need - but may want reserves or they may decide that he'd be a great attraction - of course there is a cost to it all and it depends on what they can afford. I don't know how any of this works, not having any experience, but I think it would be right to do it this way round.
Maybe I should look around for events in Oxford that could invite him
your right jules -like i ve said before most festivals have a festive director and theatre s have programme bookers they know who they want at there events
I did get a response from the agency in London who books everything for Sir Bob. I left them the festival contact information, so lets cross our fingers he (Sir Bob) is interested and sends in an application with a press release. The festival contact person was very interested and knew who Sir Bob was. I am hopeful it may happen, if not for 2007, maybe for 2008. He may get a solo concert or speaking engagement. It is up to Sir Bob and his agents. The San Juan de Fuca Festival of Arts is May 25 - 28, 2007.
Yes, it is most helpful to provide the celebrities agency with the contact information. That is most beneficial and assists in getting things started.
Sorry to do slight slam on Willo, as I have never had any contact with that person. Going by chat on this web site alone. Yes he does have a thankless job.
Well, I am very dissappointed! I have not heard anything re. Bob appearing at this festival in Port Angeles, WA. Not a peep. Perhaps the festival did not have a large enough venue for Sir Bob.
Oh well... Will hold out to see if he comes to Eastern Canada or Atlanta.
