It comes from a German or Austrian website, with pics of several artists, but does not seem to mention a year. I just wondered.
That colour of the suit is awful.

In that case it's likely that it was taken between November 11 and December 10, 1994. There was a Germany tour with 11 dates, and a week off somewhere where they may have been in Austria or Switzerland (or at home), not sure about that exactly.
I have a photo, taken at one of my all-time-favourite BG shows (Haldern, Germany, December 10, 1994) where he looks almost exactly like on the photo you found, Scottie. Same shirt, same suit, same hair. Same guitar even, lol!
If you want to give me the url where you found it, I could try and find out more! Maybe the photographer was in Haldern too.
Support band on that tour, by the way, were "To hell with burgundy" from Manchester. I wonder what they do these days... *sighs*
The (German) text is about a festival in Eupen, Belgium. Bob must have played there, but as far as I can see, it doesn't say which year. I know for sure I wasn't there...
The photos on the left must all have been taken in different years - one I recognize is Adam Green (top left) and he wouldn't have played the same years as Bob!
I don't think it was 1996 though. If any, there can't have been many shows that year.
I happened to attend one show in 1996, it was a music-literature festival in a church in The Hague. In retrospect, it was a very special performance: Bob was alone with his guitar, he was playing some songs and reading pieces of poetry, written by himself. I remember it quite well, because I saw Bob before the show walking around in the church, and I went to him and asked him to sign a CD (which he did of course). I have some pictures of that show, they are on the happyfanclub site (I think that site is still up)
