I think there is a copyright on all of the photos on this site. They're all marked with "campus-web.de", although I don't find anything specific about copyright elsewhere.
It seems to be an online magazine for students in the area of Cologne, Aachen and Bonn (where the Geldof show took place). If you cklick at "Impressum" (navigation on the left hand side) you get an email address to contact them. I'm sure they speak English, but if you like, I can ask them for you. Just tell me what you'd want to use the pics for.
Thank you Katharina. if you would contact them, that would be great. I would like to use them on myspace and would credit the photographer, if they gave me a name.
Here's a quick translation of the text (it's about the concert in Siegen, May 2006):
"Bob Geldof (left) was one of the stars - besides Ben Becker and Christina Stürmer - who turned the 16th International Festival KulturPur into a very special one. Last night on stage in the big tent theater on Ginsberger Heide, he played the hits from the old days - and more than that. Geldof enthused the crowd. His show was the final of this year's culture festival which was attended by more than 55.000 people. Wolfgang Suttner, the festival organiser said to SZ newspaper that he was particularly happy about the very young crowd at all events of the festival."
Thanks Katharina. Part of the Stern article was translated in Scotland on Sunday and I know Ure talks about the difficulties during and after Live Aid, which led to him and Geldof not speaking for years. Fortunately for us they are good friends again. He also says he had to clear up the chaotic mess that Geldof left in his wake in Edinburgh during Live 8. Something I experienced personally. I knew exactly what Midge was trying to do when he spoke to the Scottish press, officials, police and people, saying that "1 million people "in Edinburgh was a hypothetical figure, (it wasn't) and the city would not really have to close down. (It would have if a million people arrived at once, and no, Bob, Edinburgh folks would not have taken them into their homes, as we are not like that. Glasgow people might have.)
