It was one of those very rare occasions yesterday when they actually played a Rats song on VH1 classic. Of course it was Mondays. We were sitting discussing where the house is at the end of the video. Someone suggested Wales. Does anyone have any idea? It looks pretty but somewhat remote!
The idea for the house (it is meant to be a village school) in the video came from an advert for Welsh butter, but I'm not sure if it was the same one that was used. Will do a bit of investigating...

I have to be honest, when I saw the video (on youtube), I was highly amused by it...I couldn't help but laugh at the guy in the background doing random movements in the white space.
Not that the song is about anything funny. Or that I would disrespect the song that introduced me to the boomtown rats. I just found it amusing. XD

That would be Simon Crowe and I always took that to be the captain tackling with the problems and the hows and whys. Happy to stand corrected but I'm sure it was not intended to be 'random'.
Not sure on where the house is and even if Mark Boyle has finished investigations, we are not going to know the outcome any time soon I wager.

Simon seems to be doing some form of tai chi exercise? The 'captain' is the Police Captain who came across the scene of the killings, and like everyone else, tries to make sense of it-'and then the bullhorn crackles, and the captain tackles with the problems and the hows and whys...'
A bullhorn is what we'd call a megaphone. Police Captain is another American usage. Again shows Geldof's great use of American language incl 'peachy keen' and 'ain't so neat'.
