Dylan was singing about a guy called Rubin Carter. A Boxer, Jailed. A protest song? From 'Desire' album. What gets you about the song? It's a good tune/lyrics. My favourite from 'Desire' is 'Romance in Durango'. Its a really great album.
Saw the man last year in Ireland, the line up was - Violent Femmes, Flaming Lips, then Himself......He was totally on form......Bliss.
I think 'Rat Trap' and 'Joey' knock the socks off 'hurricane' though! All the best nick

I used to not care too much for Dylan's work, and "Hurricane" was the song that changed my mind, because it was played in the movie about Carter's life.
I agree, Dylan is a genius songwriter, and I'm not just saying that because he's from Minnesota.
