A couple of new dates on the calendar, in Dubai and Germany. What if want to know is if he is playing Monterey , California on 1 March? According to their conference centre, he is.  Or is he going to appear as a hologram, like Bono did last year? . I know I have got this kind of speculation wrong in the past. That is why I am just asking.

P.S. I do NOT spend all my time looking for Geldof details on the net. I have a simple google alert. THEY do all the work. I just get emails for all these things. Great for keeping people up to date on myspace etc.

Now I know why there are no tickets available to the public for the Bonn gig in May. Bob and band are among artists singing at a concert to mark the start of a United Nations Conference on something (possibly biodiversity). Tickets for delegates only. Hopefully tickets will be available for the Halle, (Leipzig) on 28 May. Still tbc. I wonder if the UN concert will be televised?

Here is the translation:

The Irish rock star and politics activist Sir Bob Geldof will open the music festival "Händels Open" in Halle, beginning end of May. Geldof confirmed his performance, informed chief Lubomir Danailow on Tuesday. The Irish rock star, who was knighted by the Queen, will perform the opening program on 28.05.08 at the "Hallmarket".

I read in another article that it had been very difficult to engage him, and that despite of his many óther dates he confirmed this performance ! The entrance will be 50,-- (only for HIS performance !) Such a pity that "Halle" is so far away from my home town.... We will see if I get a chance to go there.

Get Halle tickets half price. Ask for a special fan price and you will get them for 25 Euros. I have been told this by the organisers. Surprise surprise, they are not selling too well at 50 euros.

As usual, I would ask anybody going to Halle on Wednesday a favour. If possible, a review and some pics would be nice for my page. Full credit given. Its open air, so hope the weather is good. Still tickets available on the website, though one report I read said it was nearly sold out, but I dont know how true that is.

If it's possible I will take some pics, of course. Last time in Berlin I had to deposit my camera. Mayby it was because I had too big one. Now, I'm going to take both - bigger and smaller, so my chances rise, I hope.biggrin
