The Daily Mail is a really piss poor rag. In the midst of this article of the Geldofs (MTV will soon be calling) .....
Added to his ongoing charity work for Africa, multi-millionaire Geldof runs his successful TV company Ten Alps, as well as continuing his attempts to recreate the success of his early music career.
When it comes to the latter, the words "flogging" and "dead horse" come to mind, but, nonetheless, his determination to revive his pop star status means he is often away on tour.
I read this article too."Often away on tour?" Since when did 10 gigs a year constitute "often away on tour" It is well known that Geldof and the Daily Mail are arch enemies. He has been known to walk out of press conferences if the Mail is there. Dont think this article will help much. They forget that Jeanne has been there for the last 12 years holding the fort when he is away.
Another 2 Geldof bashing articles in the Mail. One on Pixie's smoking, (she'll be 18 this year for goodnes sake) and one on how every single celebrity involved in charity, including Bob and Bono, is completely self serving. You don't campaign relentlessly for something for 24 years, if you are self serving. If he was, Bob would have given up long ago, given all the flack he takes. I firmly believe he will keep campaigning till he dies. You may not agree with the way he does it, but he cares. You can't watch a child, or a mother die in front of you and walk away. I would challenge anyone to be able to do that. Is it just coincindence these come on the eve of Bob's latest visit to Africa with The One Campaign and President Bush? Or have the Mail just got nothing really newsworthy to report?
I have no doubt whatsoever that Bob is 100% genuine in his relentless campaigning.
Sure he loves the attention he gets from it, that's just Bob's personality the way he is and he's the first person to admit to that. That takes nothing away from how he feels and why he does everything he does.
I hate the Daily Mail anyway. Articles like this just give me more amunition!
