Hmm, not sure if I'll get to Norway in December.  But thanks for letting us know.  Really would like to go (of course)...  England would be good...

Jules, I would like to go too, but am working of course.  Ian, thanks for asking. I am now deplastered and back at work. Hope he does Hay on Wye next year. I hope to go part time from January, so that is a possibility, but I dont think he played there this year.

Hallo!

I would like to chek the date and i sent an e-mail to Tromso Kulturhus cos there is the most away place , and I received today an answer:

" It`s correct, we are working on a concert with Bob Geldof. It was supposed to be 13.12, but it might now be 14.12.08. It`s yet not finally decided."
So it is true  - But it is need to be careful with the dates.

No new songs and a frosty (ho ho) reception in Lillestrøm!  Seems to have gone down better in Skien.

9th December Lillestrøm Kultursenter http://www.rb.no/lokal_kultur/article3981992.ece
10th December Skien Ibsenhuset  http://www.ta.no/pulsen/article3984562.ece

I read there were no new songs in Lilliestrom. I know for a fact the band were rehearsing new songs and a new set list. (from one of band). And he said it sounded  good. For some reason Bob has decided not to go with them so far. Whether he thinks they are not quite ready, or what, I dont know. But at least he is writing again, that can only be a good thing. Maybe a new album is not so far off.

That's not what I read......

"He promised on stage to have new material with them the next time he comes to Tromsø - in ten years time,"

There is even a video to watch on this.

A review of NØTTERØY - comment isn't exactly complementary!

Hi all,

I have been to 4 of the gigs in Norway. I had a great time, saw places that I probably hadn't seen in my life, if it wasn't for this tour.
No new songs, but Bob said there would be new stuff "next year"... Where did we hear that before biggrin
There was a new band member, Jim Russell on drums. Niall plays percussion now.
My pictures aren't very good, but I will upload some soon and put a link here.

I have heard from a few people on myspace who thoroughly enjoyed the concerts. Glad you had a good time, Joke. And the fact remains the band have been rehearsing new songs. Time will tell. Looking forward to the pics, though I believe the fans were stopped from taking them in some venues.

I have been asked to correct this post.

The author of this message has made a mistake and has confused The Blockheads with Bob's band. It was The Blockheads who were being referred to. It was not Bob rehearsing new songs.

Please be careful in future not to put incorrect information as it misleads people.

Thanks

Tina McBain

My mistake entirely, no fault of any of the band, I must emphasise that.
I do apologise. Crossed wires, information changing when passed on, not checking facts and wishful thinking. Guilty. Not very professional.
Management still read here then, I see.

Before I get loads of abuse from people. I am about to delete my account. Nobody will ever believe anything I say anymore. My fault entirely. Thank god I did not say anything on myspace. And I am really sorry if I have caused grief for anybody.

Why?  I will restore your account.  Not like there's anything that believable on this board anyway.

confuse I think it's "much ado about nothing" All we want Bob write a new songs and this is a reason of this misunderstanding.

But what's wrong heppend? t's not official Bob Gedof's site but only a forum with gossips and things like this. The Norway gigs also was great, there was a new set.  And it's all.

Back to us Scottie

I'm sure they would shout it from the rooftops, but the facts are apart from the Jools Holland collaboration there is no new material since 2002 (or so).

Anyway, it would be odd saying "no new material" for six years as that's the only information that is available.
