...be warned, make sure that when you are reading it:

(a) you are sitting down

(b) you have someone standing by with smelling salts.

...when you see the reviews for the Boomtown Rats back catologue re-issue.

4 stars and a "Q Recommended!" label for The Fine Art Of Surfacing, Mondo Bongo & Five Deep.

Lucky Borders in Glasgow was crowded when I collapsed from the shock!

I was shocked by that rating of V Deep.  First time I ever seen anyone rate it (apart from Ian ).  I only ever buy Q if it has a decent cover mount CD these days.  Prefer Uncut, Mojo and NME.

Just noted the Mirror ratings on the News Items.  Interesting to note the variations, especially as they have the debut album as the best.  Uncut and The Mirror are more or less as expected with Q turning things on their heads.  Mojo only rated Tonic which was a shame would have been nice to read their thoughts on the others.

But overall, the reviews have been pretty positive.

A twat of a columnist for the Sunday Express had a right go at Geldof, and what may well have been at our Tina as well.

If I hear one more balloon say "oh Bob couldn't sing!" whilst proclaiming the genius of the Sex Pistols, REM, The Clash, Hue & Cry, Deacon Blue, 99% of the last 10 years of the Top 40...the whole plethora of bands led by people whose voices were only fractionally better than a Free Church of Scotland choir doing bloody Metrical Psalms (Christianity's equivalent of cats' claws going down a blackboard)...then I'll be well within my rights to march round to Park Circus Place in Glasgow & flugnoober the entire Scottish Daily Express staff with a hand crafted Bavarian hunteschwegel until they can't sit down for a week!

Do people buy the Sunday Express? Why?  The free CD?

What does it matter if the singer can sing or not?  Hell, we don't want opera, we want rock 'n' roll!!!!
