MJ asked this question in another topic, but I thought I'd give it more prominence. The Boomtown Rats CD reissues and the "Someone's Looking at You" DVD are all European releases only. This means paying import prices for the CDs, but even more dire, it means not being able to play the DVD at all on most North American players (because it's in PAL format).
So... are there are plans to release these CDs and (especially) the DVD in North American (in NTSC format for the DVD)? Anyone know?
Otherwise, anyone have tips for converting PAL DVDs to NTSC format? Or I suppose I could look into wiring my computer to my TV...?
I obviously don't have an answer, but I have a few tips for you:
CDs: I actually paid less for my Rats import CDs than I paid for Geldof's SA&D American release. I pre-ordered them from Amazon, and hunted down for 25$ of coupons on the Net, so I ended up paying an average of 22$ per CDs.
DVD: Yes, it's possible to transfer a DVD from PAL to NTSC. It takes a couple of softwares and mucho patience though. Thankfully I got a hubby to do it
If you need it done, send me an email and I'll see if I can help.
