I can't think of another year since err 1985 where I have heard "Do They Know It's Christmas?" so much. Every morning at breakfast in a Dublin hotel. Every shop I went into in Dublin. Even carol singers on Grafton Street (this is the very loose definition of Carol singers), and now the Gavin & Stacey preview on the BBC. I tell you what if there is any fcuker out there who doesn't know it's Christmas I'd be surprised!
And the funniest part is - it isn't Christmas for at least another 32 hours!
You know what, Scrooge may have had the right idea ho ho ho

Merry Christmas
Do you know what? I haven't heard it this year. Maybe Christmas is cancelled!
Heard it yesterday first time this year in Asda Crewe.
Always provokes vicarious pride.
Heard IDLM in Stoke and same sort of feeling. Getting old these days and was shocked when someone at work born in 1994 did not know who Margaret Thatcher was.
It's charted yesterday at 26 which ain't bad I've played on 7inch single also got all versions inc fire tones release last week great its. Mad time there's no need to be afraid
Looking at the charts I noted All I Want for Christmas (is you), Last Christmas and Fairy Tale of New York are the only festive hits in the top 20 (plenty more outside). And the best they ever managed in the charts was #2. Maybe this year?
PS All I Want for Christmas (is you) was #2 last Christmas
Somehow I still haven't heard the Band Aid song this Yule. However it has sneaked back into the charts at #15
Doesn't look like Mariah Carey, The Pogues nor Wham will get their festive #1 this year, but have to see in three hours time when the chart is announced.
