Does anyone know if there are plans to release the Best Of Boomtown Rats DVD in America? The one available on amazon.co.uk is Region 0 so I doubt it'll play on my Region 1 DVD.
well, I don't know this region zero stuff....I thought it played anywhere, but I got the DVD and it wouldn't play in my DVD player. Someone told me that it could play in an all-region playing DVD player ...or something, which I don't have, mine will only play USA-regioned DVDs.
luckily, it CAN pay on my computer! so I've seen it, but only on the computer. better than nothing

If you can get it on your PC, you can get it on a disc that suits your region.

Nah, just experimental!
Decrypter and Shrink are very good, and I would recommend grabbing VirtualDubMod off the www as well. This will allow you to take the sound via a stream and full processing mode off a DVD and create a .wav file (and hence a CD) with it. (or just to make a standard video file for your PC)
Also try Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ This allows you to do clever things like splitting and merging tracks. I used it to get rid of the wobbly bit at the start of I Can Make It, to remix Rat Trap as it was on the single, and to sort out the running order of Surfacing.
Need to spend a little time learning about these things but the benefits are worthwhile.
