...to see Bob Geldof, finally, on American news & TV! He is so friggin scarce here in American media (I know the reasons why...still aggravating though)...aah

The whole Live 8 thing is just exciting, period. It's nice to have something so powerful as this to be in my lifetime...Live Aid was, too, but I was only 2 and a half years old then....

and on this forum too...appraisals, disputes, arguments...negative or positive, it's life here!

Good job Bob for (so far) pulling this all off. He just doesn't quit, does he? What a driven & dedicated man he is...

BG was on TV?  Well, OK, I did see a two second snippet of today's press conference.  He looked like ****.  Normally, I couldn't care less, but it would have been nice if he'd combed his hair just this once.

I spent the day somewhat amazed at the LACK of TV coverage.

Fran, the BBC website has the video of Bob launching it yesterday.  Here's the link (although I don't know how long it will be on there):

Halfway down the page on the left hand side there is a video link entitled "Watch the Launch"

Well, seeing him for a snippit is still a lot longer than his usual America TV air time (...zero!).  He's just never talked about over here, nil, a vast open, empty Bob-less desert.  Hopefully that will change as we approach July 2...

I agree that he looked as 'crap' as usual but, still a nice, thin weight (I've never seen him 'fat'...he must have an extremely high metabolism ).  Actually except for that hair, he looked good to me.  And since Live 8 is 'his' thing it's no surprise that he'd fix his hair any nicer than usual.  One might say 'but to get the serious attention of world leaders, shouldn't he look nicer?'  Maybe true, but who's really to determine how to get someone's 'serious' attention?  Just by looks?  I think Bob's words and drive far overpower his appearance.  Bob's so not into 'formalities' anyway, he just wants to get to the point...etc.  (This isn't aimed at anyone here, I'm just thinking out loud to myself.)

I'll check out that link when I can...on my mother's slow, dial-up computer right now.  But thanks for posting it Rita
