Bob is actually appearing in the next Kleenex advert with Emma Bunton and Sven Goran Eriksson. Out in November, I think. What will he think of next?

He'll be thinking the royalties from Mondays are diminishing, so I better find another way of making fcuking money.

I do believe you,i just dont think doing adverts for kleenex is a very cool thing to be doing when he wants to be taken seriously as a musician

All depends on what he does.  If he was planning to crank one out and he was going around the house in his wanking jacket shouting "Give me the fcuking kleenex", that would be cool.  However I suspect it will be less interesting.

Ha ha. What a bizarre ad. Can't imagine I'll be rushing out to buy Kleenex, afterall that is what adverts are supposed to do but it made me laugh biggrin

Isn't it interesting to have something else to talk about other than all the music Geldof has been releasing......  (oh sh!t - he hasn't done anything for eight years now!)

If this forum depended on Geldof's music for things to discuss, we should just shut it down (4 albums in 23 years).

Seriously, it would be nice to discuss the music, but frankly there isn't any.  So kleenex ads is as good as it gets (sigh).

I wasn't even tempted to click on the link to watch the ad.....

It can't be that bad smile

Maybe I should listen to Deep in the Heart of Nowhere again some time.  I remember it been pretty poor, but as it was one of the first CDs I ever got, it did get played a few times.  Probably more than any of the later albums.  I'm not sure I ever listened to The Happy Club.  I know I bought it at Tower Records in a sale (and subsequently on the Anthology), but I have a few albums I have never got round to listening to....

i would say the happy club is much better than deep in the heart of nowhere i remember thinking i was shocked when i heard dithon for the first time i was expecting something along the lines of in the long grass but instead iwas treated to "twisting songs" such as love like a rocket and to this day i doubt my view has ever changed i still find the first album very poor for a man of his abilities

I remember being disappointed with DITHON.  But I have since learned that rarely do artist leave bands and make better records.  Only one I can think of who almost did it was Julian Cope, but I still prefer The Teardrop Explodes.

In the Long Grass was a great swansong and were the last great set of songs Geldof wrote.  He has had the odd decent track, but that was the last consistent record.  The only shame was no one heard it.
