One really never knows what Geldof (spelled with only one "f") will pull out of his sleeves from now till July 2, so my advice: just keep waiting.
Honestly, give the guy a break (to all Live 8/Geldof 'skeptics' n what not). My assumption is that this is an extremely busy time in his life right now getting this all together...he's probably head over heels in lining up musicians for all concert locations, up until the very day of the concert itself. He's not finished planning yet. Hold your breaths, everyone...
