If only it was an indie fest line up with say The Strokes, White Stripes, Razorlight, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Killers, Tears, yada yada yada Then it would be something special. I think there are too many classic bands myself, looks like a Q magazine selection.

2) one thing i hate is Bono (and before u say anything i love U2 and Bono as a person) going around saying "Everyone needs to give money and tell Bush and Blair to give more money". what i want to know is why doesn't BONO give money? he makes millions of pounds that he probably won't spend, wouldn't it help if celebrities dipped into their own pockets for a change? (any evidence of celebs that do would be appreciated, although i'm sure it's only Sir Bob that does). it's all well and good Justin Timberlake and Hugh Grant appearing on adverts telling us to wear white bands and dip into out pockets, but it p**ses me off that they don;t bother to dip into the billions of pounds they make and waste on fancy cars and luxury mansions. makes u think doesn't it?

You se I don't care too much for U2, but I thought this time it wasn't about money. I do agree that when very rich people tell me to give to charity, it makes me wonder what they need all their ca$h for if I can live on my modest income and give, maybe they could live on that as well and give the rest away. Charity is a coat you wear with too much ca$h to care. Ask Cliff Richard!

i knew an indie fan would reply and say that the indie bands playing there make it a great festival. no they don't! franz ferdinand, bloc party, cold play to name a few - ALL SOUND THE SAME! the style is either the same dreary slit ur wrist songs or the same "we think we're all rock indie when in fact we're just remaking Oasis's old songs" music. the festival should have a large mix from old to new, with a range of genres too. every festival features Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, White Stripes (although i do like the stripes), scissor sisters and snow petrol. it's just getting annoying, old and stale. pick a better line up bob!

(gag by comedian Will Smith. how true he is! at the moment everyone's on the "we must love coldplay" bandwagon. am i the only one who notices their new songs are just the old sheet music with new lyrics?!)

err, no. i) I have no mates ii) I wouldn't say I like Radiohead to impress iii) I hate summer of 69

And the Live 8 line up has three or four "indie" bands at the most. The line up is more the "classic" acts you say you like. People forget the cr@p that played Live Aid like Howard Jones and Nik Kershaw and George Michaels

Isn't that Indie enough for u? and they're all depressing Indie too which makes it worse. and predictably there's Robbie, Joss Stone, Dido and Scissor Sisters. Dunno why people bothered watching live on TV to see Bob tell them whose going to play, they could have asked me because it's so obvious. Same old bands playing at the opening of an envelope.

How about some more classic rock? or even a bit of punk, ska, REAL soul (not the whiny diarhea Joss Stone thinks she's singing). i even heard a suggestion of actual African music that reflects their life and culture. that i would LOVE to see so much live. as if we don't hear enough of the other tripe on radio 1.

Mmmm, if that's what you think indie music is. I would class all of them as pop/rock acts. Maybe you should tune into XFM and listen to some decent stuff.

Do you not realize that there are pop artists, rap singers, and even a country musician playing along with the indie crap as well?

I don't like any of them, really. But they will be there.
