I recently watched a doco on the politics of pop. This doco delved into the history of aid within the music industry. If you haven't seen it it's well worth watching. You will gain a little insight into the impact that Live Aid has had on Sir Bobs life. What he had hoped to be sucessful turned out to be bigger than life one can only image the effect on him personally including his own music career which was changed forever. What started out as a Live Aid Concert had Sir Bob trapped in a situation that gave him no choice but to continue his crusade and visit Africa and see first hand the poverty stricken people. What Sir Bob has done and continues to do is a huge act and the world politicians should sit up and take note, all talk and not action from the politians is #*#*** sickening that they allow these situations to continue. The old addage the rich get richer and the poor get poorer couldn't be more true. After watching many interviews of him I have to say Sir Bob your a very powerful man. Now suddenly I hear about Live 8 Sir Bob he's got the balls and conviction to stand up for what he beleives in and not sit back and observe. I have the utmost admiration and respect for the man. Then there is Sir Bob along with Bono what a powerful combination. Me I'm an old tune junkie and I can't speak highly enough for them, they have gained status in the world music industry and use their staus in a way that is so admirable rather than for self gain. for that I simply say thank-you for having the guts and balls to stand up and fight for what you beleive in. I hope the world takes a stand and supportsLive 8 and makes it an event that will go down as a history changing event. Governments world wide it's about time you looked beyond your well to do surroundings and take immediate action.
