Sorry we didn't post the Jonathon Ross show information, but we simply did not know it was happening until it was upon us. Obviously things are moving very fast, and sometimes events overtake us a little. But Saturday night there are 2 good documentaries you may like to look at:
Against All Odds - Rockin' All Over The World - Live Aid remembered BBC 2 - Saturday 18th June - 9:25 pm - 12:25 am
A double bill recalling the Live Aid charity concert begins with the story of Bob Geldof's struggle to oranise the event. Followed by Rockin' All Over The World, which recalls the Live Aid concert. performers, organisers, broadcasters and fans including J.K. Rowling who watched all 16 hours on television.
Bono is droll about winning acclaim for a U2 set he thought was a fiasco, Bob Geldof imitates Prince Charles, and macho rockers remember being chatted up by Queen's Freddie Mercury. This 3 hour nostalgia trip is well worth setting your video for.
I was visiting London and stumbled upon these documentaries -- I really enjoyed them! Does anyone know if they're planning to televise these in the US? I can't find any information on the BBC site. Or better yet, does anyone know if there's any way for me to purchase these on DVD? If not, is there anyone who taped it who would be willing to make copies for me?
I am trying to trace a copy of the 'Live Aid Remembered' documentary which went out on 18th June on BBC 2 between 9.25-midnight. Does anybody have a copy of this i could borrow/buy on vhs or dvd? Or do you know if and when it is being released on DVD?
I've had zero luck finding any information on how to get copies of these documentaries. I've written to the BBC and received a useless automated reply. If you do succeed in finding them, please post the information and I will do the same. They are really worth it!
