About 100 turned up for tonights show at the Ropetackle Arts Centre.
The Rats looked relaxed and there was a lot of humour amongst the four of them, a lot of it surrounding the fact that Simons carpet under his drum kit kept moving causing him a bit of grief! Again i am impressed with the talents of Darren. It looked like Garry was frequently glancing over in his direction with admiring expressions.
Pete mentioned at the start of I Can Make It If You Can how Sir Bob came up with so many great songs. Garry was quick to point out that Bob only came up with the lyrics!
They played for about 75 minutes with one encore. Safe to say they left the crowd very happy. Just a few at the back spoiled it by chatting loudly throughout. Simon said that they would be playing another festival near Shoreham next summer. Could be the one they did in Surrey last year.
Set list much the same. Would be nice if they could learn a few more songs. Would love to hear Me And Howard Hughes or Living on an Island.

It would be good if they did have another song or two in the set especially fron Tonic for the Troops, but the current set is pretty good, and when I saw them last year, it was good to hear that set which pre-dates my earliest experiences of the Rats (i.e. 1978 onwards). I won't be catching them this year as I won't be able to make the gig in London this week, but hoping for a chance to see them in the new year.
