Is it true, Bob wont play there anyways?! I mean, such a huge concert and there's no Geldof performing any song. That's a shame, especially when someone like Bob calls himself a rockmusician. If i'm wrong... shame on me :)

Paul and U2 starting - NO!!!!! Should have had the Quo...flat start to an otherwise excellent concert - thought Annie Lennox was particularly good (but she's Scottish so to be expected).

Well, unfortunately i couldn't watch the whole concert. Just saw him on stage for a speech and to introduce Madonna. So, again, would somebody please be kind enough to tell me, if Bob was performing and if so, which song(s) ?!?

Well I'll give you a ****ing answer....Bob played sometime around 19.00 I think it was, he did one song, Mondays of course...did the same fists in the air routine that he did at Live Aid, although this time around he seemed to do it for a bit longer. who knows...

1. I've never been more proud of being a fan of Bob.

2. Who were the Queen of Live8?? After what I, and billions more, just saw I think it's pretty clear...the Kings won the contest without any doubt what so ever. Pink Floyd...oh my god, that was like an out of body experience. I don't know what to say, but this much I know: after that performance don't even talk about U2, the Who, Elton, or whoever...Vive the floyd!

wasnt it just absolutlely fab! iv been watching it from home sicne 2pm, watched everybit and still have bbc coverage on of us concert, am so proud of Bob, he's just great, im in awe of him, iv been saying for ages and today im annoyign everyone telling them!! the great points of today i ithnk, were opening with u2 and paul and thier 'seargent peppers' that was class!! also thought robbie was great with audience, was in middle of eating my dinner while stil lwatching it and who comes on but Bob himself, me positive he wasnt gonna be on, i was soooooo delighted, and he seemed real happy cos he was smiling! he was great!! thought so many of acts were great but am tired to think, madonna was cool ,peter kay!!!-"sha la la la lalalala" great!! elton john, coldplay, loved the whole day! all iv to say is WELL DONE BOB! ur really a star!!cant wait to G8 now when leaders cant disagree with billions of people who know what theyre gonna be talking about!! ... bob ur great by the way !

I am proud to say that from the moment it started, I watched or listened to it.

The best bit was undoubtedly Bob, then (in my opinion, of course) R.E.M., then U2, then Elton

I was in tears when Bob brought that African girl on, and she spoke to everyone - but I was in Cannon Hill Park, Bham, so the atmosphere was overwhelming anyway.

Peter Kay was funny, and Lenny Henry, but Bob was the highlight of the show.

It was SUPERB. Thanks to Sir Bob Geldof for putting another live show like that back on because Live aid was 6years before I was born. I've got the DVD of Live aid and that was great. Once again Thanks Sir Bob for putting Live8 on and I hope you have got the message through to the G8 summit!

I wasnt born when live aid was on so i am so glad i got to watch the whole of live 8, it was so good and i hope that now the G8 will get their arse into gear and do something to stop the poverty!

Yep, has to be said that the Pink Floyd get together stole it, with the Who a close second. Both did the day proud.

I'm just so happy it all went so well in the end, and all the cynics were forced to eat their words.

I didnt know quite what to expect about live 8, but of the expectations I did have the reality exceeded them by far. Bobs performance was without a shadow of a doubt the best live performance I have ever seen, and for me the answer to who will be the Queen of Live 8 will be Bob Geldof, I think that memory will live with me forever, absolutely fantastic performance.

But saying that all the bands were brilliant, Pink Floyd were of course spectacular, along with Scissor Sisters, Keane, Robbie, The Who, McCartney, U2....could go on forever! The atmosphere was electric. Wasnt too impressed with Peter Doherty coming on completely out of his head, and thought Mariah Carey was, well I dont quite know how to put it, but I dont think she was there for the right reasons.

All in all a fantastic day that will live with me forever, i couldnt be at live aid cos i wasnt around then, and Im so glad I was lucky enough to be there to experience this and so proud I had the opportunity to stand along side the rest of the world to tell the G8 to make poverty history.

I was beyond happiness when Bob took the stage for "I Don't Like Mondays"............so pleased to see him do it.

I thought all the artists really pulled out all the stops. Favourites were U2, Coldplay (Richard Ashcroft included), REM, Scissor Sisters, Robbie Williams and The Who.

There was a lot of incredibly moving stuff happening in terms of videos and backdrops. Loved the counter on the stage backdrop recording the millions signing the register and also the names flashing by too. Someone (I'm sure more than one person) had put a lot of effort into all of that and should be commended for it was a powerful and relevant stage set.

Bob was as inspirational a speaker as ever.

Well done to all concerned. Bring on the G8!!! Surely we've created a bit of pressure on those guys to deliver the goods!

I was young and slender when Live Aid was on, and I am old and fat now and took my teenage son to Live8 in Hyde Park in the Gold Circle - we are going to Murrayfield as well - but the gig was a revelation. It was an event of a lifetime. But I don't understand a couple of things - when videos were screened demonstrating the deep misery and poverty experienced by our brothers and sisters in Africa, why were so many people still able to laugh and chat? Each time I witness the horrors I am in tears. I know tears solve nothing and I know we cannot dwell on sadness, but witnessing it several yards high in front of us surely the pity of it was unavoidable? And another, seemingly petty, problem - given that we are offering, and being asked to, take responsibility for pressuring powerful people, how is it that we cannot even take responsibility for our own litter? It may seem trivial, but everything matters and crapping up our environment, whether it is by allowing atrocities to continue without challenge, by passively accepting decisions taken by politicians, or by fouling our own surroundings, is surely unacceptable. If we ignore the little things they become big things and then they morph into out-of-control things. People at the gig seemed to think it was ok to walk around simply dropping their paper cups and rubbish for "someone else" to clear up. Get a grip! The word "respect" comes to mind.

But - the gig - what can I say?! A a huge thank you to Geldorf and all those who made it possible. What a thrill to see Bill Gates and Kofi Annan supporting it. These people can make a difference.
