I have been watching the concert on TV (along with no doubt half the population!) and I salute Bob for that. Edinburgh has welcomed the protesters and (as I've said all along), as long as they respect those who work and live here, there should hopefully be no violence.
We want the world leaders at the G8 summit to see the positive message - not violence that has marred previous G8 meetings (Genoa etc). I think today will be peaceful in Edinburgh but fear Monday (when the anarchist groups stage their protests might end in violence...I cross my fingers and hope they are not stupid and undo all the good work...).
I've added my name to the list of millions on the Live 8 Live website and wear my beadwork wristband and belt in support.

I agree with you. However, that is why the people who organized the Live8 concert also have a website where you can sing a petition and they also organized a walk in Edinbrgh in which the petition will be delivered to the G8 summit.
Um..yes but the anarchist groups won't be signing the Live8 protest - they will be there to cause violence (60 or so were rounded up by the police yesterday in Edinbrugh for trying to spoil the day for others who HAD gone there for peaceful protests). It is those group(s) that will try to undo the positive message...NOT the general public who DO want to help...
