I watched most of it on BBC3.  Had to switch it off at 1am otherwise I would never have got up this morning.

Bob, Bono and Midge gave some great speeches.  I saw Bob perform Rat Trap, just reminded me how great he and the band are live.  That was followed by The Thrills (another one of my favourite bands) and later Bono sung with the Corrs. Amazing.  I just wish I'd been there!

It looked like there was a fantastic atmosphere there.

It was unbelievably good.

We were so inspired, my 14 year old daughter now wants to go to Africa to do volunteer work when she finishes school.......

The Proclaimers opened the show and had the crowd whipped into a frenzy in seconds. They were really really good and there just wasn't a low point at any stage in the 5+ hours that followed. I thought Bob stole the show, but Snow Patrol's number was a real highlight too.

Some great comedic turns by Peter Kay (on panpipes), Eddie Izzard (on the subject of some new Olympic events to improve the British propects) and Lenny Henry (as a blues artist), and some really great speeches.

Have to be the best gig or rally I've ever been at!  We had seats in the West stand but never actually sat in them. Too busy dancing about!

Hi,

Across the pond we saw Live8 on MTV or VH1.  I watched on MTV for eight hours - alright, I was not glued to my seat, but I did tape the show.

I did view performances by Bob, Bono and McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews, and a few other speakers (Will Smith & Brad Pitt).  I thought it was impressive that the shows were free!  The closest show for me was in Philadelphia, PA.  That was a little too far for me to trek at this time from GA.

Anyone see the 1985 show and the 2005 show?
