How to meet Geldof !!

This actually happened to a friend from myspace last week.
She was crossing the street near her home in LA, when she had a near miss with a car. It stopped at lights and she recognised the passenger, a certain Mr Geldof.
She approached the car and started talking to Bob through the window, telling him she was a big fan and had been to several concerts over the years. he shook her hand and said thanks very much love a couple of times.
Strange things happen. If anyone had told her that morning when she left the ouse tha she was goig to have a close call with BG?
Bet she did not even have her "face on"

A REALLY bizarre thing happened to me.

In about 1993, I was going on my first date with an 18 year-old school girl. We had planned to go on the train for a day out shopping in Stoke (yes I really know how to impress a girl...). We got to the station and had just missed the train, so we decided to get the next train which happened to be going in the opposite direction (to Manchester).

On the train, my date was asking what music I liked etc. and I talked on and on about the Boomtown Rats and how I collect their records. She said "We could go into a record store in Manchester and have a look to see if they have any rare Boomtown Rats records". I explained that most stores only sell CD's these days and the Rats hadn't released any for a number of years.

We got off the train and my date suggested that we went into the first record store we came across. I thought I'd have a browse anyway just on the off chance.

We walked into the store and I looked up at one of a number of small TV screens around the store. It said "Bob Geldof in 15 mins". I thought 'WOW Bob is going to be on the TV just as I'm looking to see if there are any Rats CD's".

And then... I realised that Bob wasn't on TV - he was actually appearing in the store and playing some songs. Not only that but he was there to promote a Best of Boomtown Rats CD that was just being released (that I hadn't known anything about).

We met Bob and had a good chat with him. I bought the CD and Bob signed it. Bob looked very down but said my date looked "very summery". She replied innocently asking him where his wedding ring was. My date had no idea why she asked him about his wedding ring as she didn't even know who he was or that he was married. A few days later it was all over the news about Bob and Paula splitting up.

Oh, and the girl that I went on that first date with - we've been together ever since and now she is my wife.

The chances of all that happening were so incredibly remote that you sometimes have to wonder about destiny and/or someone upstairs keeping an eye out for you.

WOW must have been fate. Strange coincidences happen sometimes for sure.
