I could not find the original post but I have just got this rare live concert onto cd.Anybody who wants a copy please drop me a line with your adresse. It is ok quality and has an unknown song on it and early versions of some of the stuff from In The Long Grass.Just be patiant with me and I will send out copys in the next couple of weeks after my better half has finished her exams. I have also e-mailed Pete Briquette about the unknown song(Don`t Feel Like Doin It?).
Being somewhat a Rats expert--I'm 99% sure i havent heard this track either live or anywhere else before.Did see them a couple of times on this tour so i could be wrong but i don't remember it.Great dance track though like most of the stuff around that time. Also some different versions of other tracks--great thanks
I was at that gig and have had the tune to the Doing It track in my head all these years, not surprisingly it turned out to be quite a bit different to how I remembered it but its a great track. I don't think it would have fitted in with the songs on In The Long Grass, I think it would have been more at home on V Deep, perhaps it was written for that album and not used, or maybe they thought it wasn't good enough or as I said didn't fit in with the other tracks on In The Long Grass. It would have made a good b side. Thanks to Derek for the CD.
I glad you enjoyed your cds.I have a live concert from Norway and Germany which I hope to have on cd soon. When they are done I will let you all know. The one from Norway is from TFAOS tour and the German one is the Bongo Over Europe tour.
Hi Guys , I know I stay below the radar but would love a copy of this cd , remember seen the Rats Golddiggers Gig on the telly before in the Long Grass was released and loved the show , taught the band were on top form and fighting for there lives.
This may be a time for us to get our heads together and track Rats Set Lists as in the past I taught that they were a bit lazy and relayed heavy on Fine Art of Sufacing ....Nothing happened....Pic Taken.... Mondays....Someones Looking at you...Keep it Up with Joey and Rat Trap into the Mix.
There are more cds on the way, they were sent from Denmark this morning. This will be the last time I send any cds as it is to time consuming and expensive(I spent nearly £30 on postage just this morning).I hope you enjoy the cds. The cds are from the Fine Art Of Surfacing tour(Norway) and Bongo Over Europe(Germany).

Many thanks for the CDs, a great surprise when I went through my post late last night on returning from holiday.
Should anyone else want the CDs contact me via PM and I can arrange a UK based delivery and save Derek the considerable cost of posting from Denmark.
Give me a couple of days and then I will send them to you Ian.I am glad the cds make you all happy.I will send some more cassettes to my friend so he can copy them on to cd.
Derek, Just reeived my CD's many thanks again. I was at the concert in Bradford and it semed to be an early tryout for tracks from in the long grass. The unknown song was also sang at a gig at Ashton under Lyme a few months earler
P.S This Is My Room i have never heard live. Wonderful guitar work on the live version.
I heard it on Bongos Over Britain @ Hammersmith Odeon (as was) back in 1980. I regret not seeing them on the final tour in 1985, but I was at University then and oddly 1982-1986 is all a bit of a hazy memory. Sadly they never did turn up at our University, but Sweet did at around 1am when most of the audience had gone. One of the best gigs I ever went to. Also regret missing the 1978 tours, as I couldn't get tickets. I first saw them in 1979 as I knew someone on the door at the Rainbow. Don't tell Geldof, he'll want the fcuking money for the ticket!
I have sent 2 cassettes to my friend to record onto cd.1 is a BBC interview of the early Rats days and has about 30 seconds of "My Generation on it and a demo of Neon Heart(I think) and the 2nd is some songs from a concert from the USA and includes Never In A Million Years.I will let you know when I get them back.
Sadly, never got a reply.I will try again.I have Petes email.I have got some old tapes recorded onto dvd and that is my next project to send out.Just having probs re-recording the dvds at the mo,not sure whether my computer settings are right.
Still busy recording cds onto my computer and nearly finished, just need to find out something about these dvds I have. Will keep you all updated, got some live stuff from USA,Norway and some BBC bits as well.
