Is Man At The Top about BG?

Hi everyone more rats musings -Ive always wondered if Gerry Cotts pretty good Elephants Graveyard  b side was written about Bob Geldof and the fickleness of fame. This was the commercial peak of the Rats "career" best selling album Mondo Bongo had just been a hit. Particularly the lines "and now can you make it last/ and now can you keep control "  Unfortunately I cant figure out the lyrics fully. Geldof was always worried about losing his muse so Ive always seen it as a song about  trying to maintain some degree of control and fear of failure. Unfortunately it has not been remastered for the new cds. Of course all song lyrics are open to interpretation -that s why we have Songmeanings websites!! The irony is the that song is sung by Bob.

A bit like Geldof's most personal song, Fall Down, been sung by Simon Crowe.  From what I understood the song was about Geldof and got stuck on the b-side of Banana Republic to pacify the rebellious Cott.  Of course as it was a fairly decent hit, so Cott shared the royalties 50:50.  Ker-ching!
