Taking a leaf out of Bob's book.....

(suddenly that expression sounds weird, taking a leaf out of someone's book, where did that come from I wonder, books don't have leaves in them do they? hmm weird)

anyway, moving on to the subject of this thread..........

Have you done?  Has this man or others inspired you into doing anything for a cause or a belief?  What was it?

Or......do you think there is not much you can do so don't?

and....on the subject of 'doing' what are your views about how to go about making this a better world?  Where do you stand in all of this?  what are your views and opinions?

People might read or subscribe to a magazine and website called the Idler which seeks to overthrow the tyranny of work and the emphasis on economics.

I say lets all become hippies. Read about various types of meditation which might still our minds a bit and stop us running around like headless chickens- or at least know you are a headless chicken- its called mindfulness.

Causes can be good or bad. In Geldofs case with famine aid he has his knockers and detractors. I think Geldof is realistic enough to know that whatever he does it will only add up  to a tiny amount in the scheme of things. Who can say in twenty or thirty years time how Africa or indeed the whole world will stand in terms of standard of living. People can only do "the right thing"  as they see fit at the time they're living in.
