What a superb gig that was. Nice to meet ArrGee, BTR, Suss, Joan of Arc and meet up with Wes and Liz again, plus friends. will tell you more later, need some sleep/rest.
By the way, does anyone know what they were filming for and if we can get a copy?
Wow what a really fantastic gig and it was really great to meet everyone. Brilliant night. Also, the band thoroughly enjoyed meeting all you guys.
Many, many thanks Suss for such a memorable evening and your great hospitality.
Many thanks to suss. Good to meet a few people off the forum, especially those who I have conversed with for many years. Really great to see The Rats in a small venue up close, and with a good number of proper fans. Last train to London was at 23:25, so I did a runner after Mondays.
Suss--Cant thank you enough for an absolute superb night. The Rats were on top form and the atmousphere was electric plus the hospitality was second to none.Good to see friends old and new.Cant wait till the next gigs in January, hope to see you all there---Liz and Ian
The atmosphere was electric, indeed. Any doubts about hearing them several years later, or that they might be old and past it dragging out the same old tunes were dispelled. They brought everything back to life with vigour and passion. The changes in the band were different, and not in the least bit negative. Darren and Peter were good alternatives, if you just can't have the real thing. There was nothing stale about the Boomtown Rats in any sense. The music was as alive and energetic as it has always been. I sang and danced from beginning to end. It passed in a flash. Looking forward to seeing them again sometime.
The consensus seems to be that the gig was wholly enjoyable and everyone seems to have had a good time with the band in spellbinding form.
I put on Late Last Night a few times at the weekend before I went out and came to the conclusion (again) that The Boomtown Rats were true musical geniuses.
