Geldof talks about stuff though little about the new album. However those cool dudes at Mojo gave the first two Rats albums four stars!
Wonder what are the chances of the Boomtown Rats ever getting a cover and ten page feature in Mojo.
Mojo always seem to play it safe- dont ever remember XTC getting a cover either.
Remember it wasn't the cool dudesat Mojo that gave the first two albums four stars but most likely one individual writer. But I won't carp cos its Christmas. To misquote Van Morrison maybe" I'm never working when there's complaining to be done!"

None, barring a Rats revival which has yet to happen in the last 30 years!. They did have a four/five page spread around the time of the reissues, but it wasn't too informative.
I love Carter USM and can't see them ever gracing the Mojo cover either- but they appeal to me much more than Led Zeppelein or somebody like Jimmy Hendrix.
Point being that a lot of the time there are much more interesting acts hidden away in the back pages of rock history- or bands that deserve a wider listenership or reappraisal but these magazines are inherently conservative in touting the usual suspects. ' Course if I was the editor of Mojo I'd have the Rats and XTC on the cover in alternate months.
Listening at the moment to Some Kinda Nature the Lou Reed track on the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach- Its ok but nothing special.
I opened my magazine and saw the photo, it was so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off it. Howard saw it and said oooh, he looks really really old there! I said it is a beautiful photo, he thought I was nuts. you just don't understand
He looks a bit worn in that photo but maybe he was just off a plane and was jetlagged or out partying the night before.
All celebrities take both good and bad photographs and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, allegedly.
I just wonder how much sleep Geldof gets per night- I doubt if he gets the recommended eight hours too often. The habitual bags under his eyes are a tell tale sign.
Re ArrGee comments I would give him fifty p- is that any way for an old rock star to be?
i have briefly seen the pic in print in mojo and thought he looked a bit rough, but ffs for 57 hes well good looking i reckon......anyway if i sat there in that light with no make up on and my hair looking like i just got up i would look like **** tbh...... and i'm only 43.....yeh his photo in this publication just makes me think we must have even more in common X
Seems the men have one opinion and the ladies another. Any lady disagree with the female consensus that Bob is looking very well here?
There are loads of much better photos of him than this particular one- I wouldn't use it for a publicity shot-probably needs a touch of an digital airbrush or a complete digital makeover.
This is sort of like disagreeing on a song - one person sees it this way and the other has a different opinion. I wonder would Bob himself think this is a good photo. We all have our own personal favourite photographs of ourselves after all. We have a self image which may be at odds with how others may see us.

Mrs. ArrGee disagrees. She thinks he looks about 70 with his turkey neck.

Anybody see the Belfast Media Festival presentations- there he looks much better, fit and tanned and in very articulate mode.
