Alright. I did it for you guys. I shelled out 10 bucks for a copy of that poor excuse for a movie (cause no decent video club would have it on their shelves) and wasted 97 minutes (yes, I counted them) of my life to see 49 seconds of Bob on the big screen.
And I must say... It was well worth it.
Don't get me wrong. The movie was 10 times as bad as I could have imagined... Except for those few gems that I now bring to you, so you can save 10 bucks and 96 minutes of your lives. Yes, I'm all about punishment and sacrifice. You can thank my christian upbringing.
Oh. My. God. That movie looks HILARIOUS. Damn, now I've gotta see it. And, BTW, THAT hair is HOT.
Trust me on this: Those 4 screen shots are the only redeeming qualities of that movie. The rest is not even snark worthy. Don't say I haven't warned you.
Hmm a have seen it long time ago, but i didn't know bob then, so I can't remember him in it. And I must say I really don't want to remeber that movie, it was crap.
MJ - I saw Spice World awhile ago...thought he was pretty funny in it. funny looking, that is it was worth seeing. The only other parts my sis & I didn't fastforward were the Richard O Brian parts, just to see him playing someone other than Riff Raff from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Camilladk - agreed with Fran - yes & yes. You should really try to watch it if you can find it anywhere - he's in it a lot and has interesting things to say. I always enjoy watching Bob talk about music b/c, music's one topic he actually enjoys discussing (unlike Africa, Band/Live Aid/8, father's rights, etc.). Some decent rare (I think) footage as well.
You know i seen the movie spice world but come on......To much spice and less Bob. I was hopeing to see more Bob. The movie was okay, could have been great if Bob was in there more.
OK - I'm going to out myself a bit, but I liked Spice World.
Like some of you - I saw it just to see Bob (same reason I bought Bernard & the Genie!) - but I was blown away that the movie was actually not that bad. It was refreshing to see that they didn't take themselves too seriously, and all the cameos were great - as some noted - Roger Moore feeding a pet pig a bottle while giving mysterious advice was pretty great. Elvis Costello as a bartender? Richard O'Brien as the evil photographer? Meatloaf as the busdriver - who, when asked to unclogg the girl's toilet notes that he loves the girls, that he'd do anything for them... but he won't do that...? It had Fry AND Luarie in it! And Ginger Spice turns into Bob Hoskins, etc and so on. Pretty funny, and entertaining. As much as the stories are similar, it's no Hard Day's Night, but it's still worth at least a rental. If nothing else, you get a tiny, and funny, Bob cameo! (At least as good as his cameo in Bernard and the Genie!)
er... so... uh... man, I can't believe I admitted that...
Mike you admitted that you liked DITHON (among other things, lol) so maybe, as I DO like DITHON too, I'd like Spice World... I should give it a try! Problem: No video rental here is going to have it. Hm...
Thanks for the screenshots MJ, they're really very funny! Hadn't seen them before.
Am I the only one who saw Spice World in the theaters? (In Spicer, Minnesota, no less!). I really watched it for the cameos & it's was entertaining. {Sometimes it's fun to go to movies just to laugh.}
