I have never got my grubby hands on one, but what I want to know is are they playable? I did spray a few discs I had with an aerosol but that fcuked them up!
Of course they have to play the LP in question. Many years ago I bought a David Bowie tape which had John Denver's Greatest Hits on!
Don't think I've ever seen one that's not all framed up with a plaque etc, and guess I'd be more worried about damaging presentation or even disc by putting it to the test.
Think Noel's right that BTR got one (not sure what colour) from the Ensign offices. Maybe when he's finished delivering BTR jnr he'll be back on to respond.
I'll also ask my next door neighbour, who's something like UK managing director for Roadrunner Records (Slipknot etc) and whose stairway is chocabloc with presentation discs.
There is sadly no definitive answer. Sometimes they play. Sometimes they don't. More often than not they are a different LP, but sometimes they are the right one.
I was going to buy a House of Love one, but I don't think I'll bother as it's unlikely to be the real thing.
