And didn't get one

I am off work with a filthy cold and feeling a little sorry for myself.

Listening to my local radio station, I hear a competition - the prize being a signed copy of Geldof in Africa. Now that would be the tonic for me right now. The question was 'The answer is Peaches what is the question'. I entered twice, but no luck. The presenter called the winner and they discussed Geldof and decided he has 2 daughters - Fifi and Peaches, both teenagers. How infuriating is that?

Just to rub it in even more they read out another email from me and said that I'd got the answer to the competition question right but didn't win the prize. Then they made a sarcastic remark that the book might be worth about £5 in about 10 or 15 years.

I just had to get that off my chest. Please pile on the much needed sympathy to the Guru.

I'm deeply sorry to hear of your loss.

But Jules, it gets worse. Enjoy your final moments as the one and only guru.  This is a dark time, but it will pass.

Again, my deepest sympathies.  Now take some cold medicine and go to bed as soon as possible.

They didn't really need to do their research and by the sounds of it really weren't interested. But the prize should have gone to someone who is i.e. me!

Thanks for the sympathy keep it coming.

What is Yorkshire pudding?  Is it one of those disgusting things with animal brains or intestines or whatnot?

At least hurricane Rita is headed for Texas.

Jules, you're no longer the only Guru.  Figured I might as well break the news in the bad news thread....

Hee hee I noticed I'm not the only Guru. I have a second in command. Welcome to the land of Gurus Tango :).

Rita, no I wouldn't want ahurricaine named after me, and certainly not one of that scale . Yorkshire pudding is nothing sinister. It is kind of batter based but has more a pastry texture. It is most commonly eaten with Roast Beef - traditional English food. Not my kind of thing. Give me a blasting hot curry for my cold. That'll sort it
