They also had a portrait by David Bailey from about 10 years ago in last week's Review, a full page tabloid picture.   Good for frightening the kids smile

A couple of hours ago I read through the posts in the Telegraph about Geldof's pre gig address to his audience. Its clear that Geldof is not help in high esteem at least by the readers of that august publication. Talk about vitriol.

Most amusing is the amoung of people who can't even get his surname correct and still feel qualified to vent their outrage as Bobs shortcomings. Amusing also one reader saying he was from the "back streets of Northern Ireland". He is from relatively wealthy suburb of Dublin in the Irish Republic but then Irish geography was never that strong in some parts of middle England.

Loads of readers comment on Geldofs lack of musical talent- yet they think the Boomtown Rats were a one hit wonder band. They don't care for his music and equally don't know anything about it. In the Telegrapy ignorance sure is bliss.

To be fair there is a reasonable amount of balanced comment. Normally I don't care too much of what people think of Geldof.  He is an egotist to some degree and probably has an exaggerated view of his place in the world.

A lot of the Telegraph readers think Geldof should keep his views about his love life to himself, saying breakdowns are a normal part of a lot of lives.

I suppose in the end he divides opinion- you either like him or hate him. Amused to see one reader describe his as the Antichrist and quoting from various passages from the bible to back up his argument!

Seems the gig was good though.
