oh that is so cheap...ha, don't think I'll be listening to that fall out boy any time soon.... have you heard the bowie album station to station? well, in the titletrack he sings "it's not the side-effect of the cocaine, I'm thinking that it must be love".... guess it's just another way of sampling or something. there, my 2 cents..now I'll let you get on with your track of the day
Once upon a time at the foot of a great mountain, there was a town where the people known as Happyfolk lived, their very existence a mystery to the rest of the world, obscured as it was by great clouds. Here they played out their peaceful lives, innocent of the litany of excess and violence that was growing in the world below. To live in harmony with the spirit of the mountain called Monkey was enough. Then one day Strangefolk arrived in the town. They came in camouflage, hidden behind dark glasses, but no one noticed them: they only saw shadows. You see, without the Truth of the Eyes, the Happyfolk were blind.
Falling out of aeroplanes and hiding out in holes Waiting for the sunset to come, people going home Jump back from behind them and shoot them in the head Now everybody dancing the dance of the dead, the dance of the dead, the dance of the dead
In time, Strangefolk found their way into the high reaches of the mountain, and it was there that they found the caves of unimaginable Sincerity and Beauty. By chance, they stumbled upon the Place Where All Good Souls Come to Rest. The Strangefolk, they coveted the jewels in these caves above all things, and soon they began to mine the mountain, its rich seam fueling the chaos of their own world. Meanwhile, down in the town, the Happyfolk slept restlessly, their dreams invaded by shadowy figures digging away at their souls. Every day, people would wake and stare at the mountain. Why was it bringing darkness into their lives? And as the Strangefolk mined deeper and deeper into the mountain, holes began to appear, bringing with them a cold and bitter wind that chilled the very soul of them up. For the first time, the Happyfolk felt fearful for they knew that soon the Monkey would soon stir from its deep sleep. And then came a sound. Distant first, it grew into castrophany so immense it could be heard far away in space. There were no screams. There was no time. The mountain called Monkey had spoken. There was only fire. And then, nothing.
O little town in U.S.A, your time has come to see There's nothing you believe you want But where were you when it all came down on me? Did you call me now?
haha lol.trust me if i could get sounds onto my computer i'd be willing to take up your offer.if you've seen any of my convo's with Lady Zylpha you'll see that I write my own stuff anyway.
anyway today is the pogues-sickbed of cuchullan (i might have spelt that wrong)

because i did my french speaking exam today and as soon as i got outside i started to dance in happiness that it was over and i now have 2 weeks work experience!yaay
I just had my Hungarian literature and grammar exam today, it wasn't so hard than I thought. Tomorrow i can have a break than after it comes the Histiory than English exam. Wish me luck.
I chosen Márai. It wasn't too hard. Did you learn about Umberto Ecco, because we didn't at my school. Good luck for your up coming exams. Which is the fifth subject that you have chossen. My subjects are: Literature-grammar, Histury, English, Geography and "Social knowlege (Társadalomismeret)
we haven't learned about that guy. I never heard his name. an we haven't learned about Márai too. bad luck, as my English teacher says.
about the final exams: my subjects are Literature and Grammatics, Maths, History and Physics. all at normal level (középszint). and I passed the English language exam so I don't have to take final exam. let me ask a question: to which university would you like to go? I would like to go to Gödöllő, természetvédelmi mérnöki szak. and the same at Sopron and Debrecen.
good luck to your exams!!!
and the track of the day is: Monty Python: Always look on the bright side of life
I chossen 5 University: Two in Pécs, one is free and the other is fee paying. Veszprem, Szeged and Szekesfehervar Universiy. (Anglisztika szak) Thats why i have to graduate from English aswell, although I alredy passed the Pitman Examination.
I should explain that if it's a work day, I usually start my day off playing one of two songs (and many days both songs):
"Come Alive" by Ric Ocasek (from Quick Change World)
"Room 19" by Bob Geldof (from The Happy Club)
This is because I usually get to work fairly early and I need something to wake me up a bit. [I don't drink coffee.] So I turn up the speakers on my computer and get some energy thru music while starting my workday.
My third choice is something I listened to this morning: "Waterloo Sunset" by The Kinks. [I just read Ray Davies unauthorized autobiography "X-Ray" this weekend. An excellent book; it made me go and buy a Kinks CD and I'm getting to appreciate their earlier songs on a whole new level now.]
take care,
debm

I can't think of an appropriate song - something to say everything that can go wrong will... ??
Firstly today I couldn't get on the internet, my connection just wouldn't work. The support line made some suggestions which didn't work. Several hours later, after attempting all kinds of things I called the helpline again. Wouldn't you know it just as I got through - after nearly an hour holding on - the connection came up! Ironic might be appropriate in that case...
Meanwhile I went out in the car and got as far as a big main roundabout just minutes from my home and the car died on me, right on the junction. I had people tooting at me, someone got out and knocked on my window to see why I had stopped. When I told him the car at died on me he just walked off! Even with my hazards on people still drove up behind me and wondered why I wasn't moving. The only good thing was that there were actually two policeman nearby just when I needed them and they pushed the car to the side of the road out of the way, while I waited for the rescue services to arrive. The car isn't fixed, they towed us back home and it's a Bank Holiday this Monday - wouldn't you know it, so it will be Tuesday before we can call up to get it fixed.
ok this is a band my mate plays the saxaphone in.they play riot ska/punk stuff.they're actually pretty good but they've taken the music link off their myspace and they only have the live one which is really poor sound quality.my mate does the graphics and stuff aswell.they've done a few gigs now and are doing quite well
Hope you are well and healthy and that Bob is too. I saw him at a lecture in Cardiff 13th June. He looked well and healthy. I didn't get to speak to him because the event was not as organisedin the business diary for Millenium Stadium. Did you go to his concert in Germany last night? It has been advertised for months on bobgeldof.info tour. Were you lucky enough to get to offer him your sofa? He is gorgeous. Everyone fancies him even staff in Ann Summers shop. Hopefully you were able to watch the spitting image programme. I saw a bit but didn't hear much because my parents interrupted. I should have videod over anything incase he was trying to tell us anything. I only got the main track of the day 'We're scared of Bob'. It's so true that I got upset and now I'm trawling the site incase there is a careless post which I can't get at to edit before I completely ruin our chances of ever getting our link back to the main geldof forum. Do you ever think it is sad that we don't have Bob Geldof as a real member with an e-mail address we can contact him or a phone number etc?

I apologize; I've been listening to this stuff for 3 weeks and can't stop. [I guess I will when I get my Geldof box set in 2 weeks for my birthday...lol]
