I just spotted Dublin on 6 Dec has been added. I can't make it myself but thought I'd highlight it... Go to the gig listing on this site and it's there with the website and phone number listed.

I'm deliriously happy though I've never been to Vicker Street. Actually I rarely ever go to Dublin. It seems to take an inordinate amount of time to drive there (considering it's really not that far away) and is really difficult to find a place to park the car cheaply and safely.

But I've heard that Vicker Street's not short on atmosphere and it is Bob after all.............

The link's not working yet so I suppose I'll phone them tomorrow to find out what price the tickets are.

My husband's going to kill me (even though he'll definitely go with me as he'd never miss the opportunity to see Bob live). I've recently bought tickets to see Coldplay in Belfast and just yesterday bought tickets to see Jason Mraz next March in Manchester.

After searching about the net I discovered it's Vicar Street not Vicker Street (which just proves the point I don't get down to Dublin often) and the tickets go on sale at 37.50 Euros at 9am on Friday 21st October through www.ticketmaster.ie

Now the question is how many tickets will I need? After Live 8 my 3 kids all want to go, my 19 year old sister will be visiting from Oz and could not be left out either. (Bad language may be an excuse to leave the wee one at home though.............I just hope and pray there's an age restriction!) All this in the teeth of Christmas!!!!!!

How old are your Kids? I saw some kids of around 11 or maybe slightly younger at Shrewsbury. There were right at the front and Bob loved having them there. He bowed to them and was generally making them laugh.

By the time December comes my kids will be 15, 12 and 7.

They've been reared on Rats so could sing along to almost everything Bob's likely to sing.

It's a pity the concert's not after Christmas as the tickets could be slipped into their stockings!

What age is your brother Tango?

Kidneybean

I think the 7 year old would probably be OK. Surely it would say on the tickets if there was a restriction of any kind? It's up to you of course about the morality of the bad language! I wonder how old Tango's brother looks?

I think Bob would love having someone so young there, especially singing along to all the tracks and enjoying the music so much

He looks around 10 or 11 to me.

Kidneybean, if tickets were to slip into my Xmas stocking, I'd need flight tickets also .

Tango what tickets do you have for Hull?

Both are front row and slightly to the left of the auditorium. I had some attention from him at Shrewsbury, basically because I was right iin front of him, so close I could have grabbed his legs. I received a shower of spit and sweat from him too. It was standing room only.

i pestered the box office woman about the tix so much that when they eventually came on sale she saved me good seats.i felt quite mean tho cos in the message i got from my mum it said, front row seats for bob but max has been stung by wasps.i wasnt sure what to do so i was crazy hyper in school and then all sympathetic with the dog when i got home.it all panned out quite nicely really

as for the spit and sweat...maybe i should take an umbrella

Bob goes to the right of the stage, left of the auditorium - so you won't be directlyin front him and hence my choice to ask for seats slightly to the left of centre.

Don't take an umbrella just enjoy it!

Ater much deliberation it looks like I'm going to see Bob in Dublin with my sister and two oldest kids........Now to get the tickets!

I've never been in the front row for anyone. Closest was third row in the Elmwood Hall in Belfast for Bob two years ago (or was it three?) I was checking out the seating plans for Vicar Street and it looks like it can be all seated or partially seated. The site says it's mainly an over 18 venue though sometimes younger people are admitted...............Sounds Irish to me!

Tango, those are cute kids. My 7 year old would qualify too but the tickets are way too dear to justify taking someone who might fall asleep. (And yes, this has happened...........the name of the artist performing at the time shall be kept secret!)

LOL!

I was going to say (before you wrote that the 7year old kid is not coming along) to remember and take some good noise protection - you know those yellow or green spongy things you put into your ear? - especially for the youngest. Don't know about the other two, they may find it uncool. We've taken our children to concerts too (though mainly to open air festivals) and they found it too loud without the protection. But they were a bit younger than your children, 5 and 2 at the time...

I'm sure your kids will have a great time - "reared on rats", I like that!

You mean earplugs Kat. You can get white ones, and if their hair is long enough you could ensure it covers their ears so the plugs don't show. Then no-one needs to know they have them in.

Well al that discussion about who to take and who not to take, proved a total waste of time!

The Vicar Street gig is an "Over 18's ID required" thing. I was gutted to find this out just after 9am today........

So I've bought just two tickets and will not be taking any of my kids, but instead my sister or my husband.

Still at least I'm going even though I feel guilty about not being able to bring the kids. And I got good seats. Front row in the balcony.
