Hi Folks, I'm a longstanding Bob / Boomtown Rats fan but a new member here.  I'm trying to find some background information to settle a work arguement about a concert shown on British TV early 90's about Bob playing an obscure Australian festival.  I can remember the gig being shown but cant remember when or where it was, can anybody help?

Regards

Mickey

The gig as Laibach says was held at Goondiwindi, Queensland in 1994. Just go to YouTube and google Geldof Goondiwindi and it comes up.

Watching the start of part two was a bit scary with a potential crowd crush due to drunken excesses. The audience consisted mainly of young inebriated Australians letting their hair down as only they can. Goondiwindi is one of a circuit of events called bachelor and spinster balls held in the outback- attracting a rough and ready crowd and the Geldof concert is quite good- as much about the audience as Bob and the band.

Thanks folks for all the background. An Australian I work with had been telling me about 'B&S' parties and I mentioned Bob's gig but couldn't remember the place or date although I can recall it being shown on tv and "that" suit!

Much appreciated/thanks again.

He looked a bit like the raggle taggle gypsy, what with the hair and suit etc. Almost unrecognisable from "Boomtown Bob" of ten years previously- like punk never happened!
