Bob is being asked to do a fundraising concert for the Aisian Earthquake appeal.

Somehow I think it won't do it, but I maybe wrong. Only time will tell. What do you think?

I'd be surprised if he did it.  Any aid work he does is related to Africa in some way.  That's not to say he doesn't care about any other crises in the world, but I believe he feels Africa needs the most help out of any other disaster in the world.

Like he's said...he's sickened the most by Africa's poverty because it is a man-made disaster, rather than a natrual disaster, which can affect anybody at any time.

Wouldn't his image or credibility or power or something be lesser in some fashion if he accepted every fundraising proposal?  Look, an earthquake...let's call Bob.   Uh oh, a flood in some other area...hey, what about Bob?  (no snickering, Bill Murray fans)...etc.

Bob is not the magical country saver, but a musician, and I believe he'd want to stick as close to that as possible.

That's my opinion of what he would do, or how he'd maybe feel about doing this fundraiser.  I woundn't mind whatever he chose to do or not do personally lol.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. He prefers to put all his energies into Africa and man-made disasters/atrocities. These probably make him the most angry and therefore motivate him more.

However, if global warming is responsible for the frequency and severity with which these disasters occur, then it is ultimately man-made.

Good point...

Again, though, where would he draw the line?  Africa-related problems is his main persuit for dramatic change so he'll probably just stick with that.  However I don't see any more Live Aid/8s in his future...any continual work he does with Africa will probably involve direct contact with prominent politicians & the Africans themselves.  As he's always been doing...
