Devoted old fans, that's what he thinks of Ian and Tina  LOL

BTW what is trended?  I don't know either!  I rarely use twitter nor facebook.

Still good news, he is totally unaware of the forum and my blog.  He probably won't jump off the stage and beat me up...  phew!

Predictably, heroically in fact, he doesn't have much time for electronic media or social networking. Yes, there is an official bobgeldof.com website (run by some devoted old Boomtown Rats fans) but he's only seen it once. There's a Facebook page which he claims never to have looked at.

"And a Twitter thing, of course," he says, sounding contemptuous. "A couple of months ago someone told me that I'd 'trended' for three or four seconds. I didn't know what the **** they were on about."

Already seen it. Think it means he gets lots of mentions. Scottie did say he was trending and I had to ask what it meant. I've forgotten why though.

Bob has already told me personally and Jules and I together that he apprecates what we do. We both got a very special gift from him too. So, I am not taking this too seriously.

If Bob's management read this,  maybe they can pass this on. I agree with Bob when he says most people have nothing to say on twitter. I have plenty to say, just about to do my 3000 tweet. I WORK twitter and have built up a good list of contacts in journalism, radio, theatres, tourist industry, as well as fans. Eg this week I have been sending all the current reviews and video links to Cadogan, Ashcroft, This is Croydon, Lincoln Theatre , Visit Lincoln, as well as local papers, TV and radio. Cadogan have them up on their website and all the others have retweeted. Most are following me so they can retweet quickly. I will start doing the same with the next lot of theatres soon. I also do deals with people. I will put a link to an interview on FB if that journalist will tweet the gig links. I have learned this through sheer trial and error. It is called networking.

It's working because there are no cancellations this time around.  I suspect it has far more impact on ticket sales than the Alan Titmarch appearance.

Only time I followed twitter was on my mobile during the riots when we were at the Morrissey concert at the Brixton Academy.  Just wanted to be sure it was safe to leave and the motor wasn't ablaze.  Most organisations block it along with facebook, so I never use it.

People dont realise how twitter works. We may only have 800 followers, but some of the tweets have been retweeted to thousands.  Tony Dalton, the promoter of this tour has been retweeting my stuff too. We all interact and help each other out.

Geldof and I don't anyway!  I reckon everyone under 30 does.

What is trending?
