I was overjoyed to witness Gerry Cott join Geldof & Briquette tonight in Chelsea. He played on Rats songs Mary, Joey & Rat Trap....It was great to see him after 30 years and all 3 looked very happy.
I would have the other night but it was a bit of a melee at the front. Highly unlikely that I will be at St. Albans though. I suspect the next time I will be listening to Mary,Joey and Rat Trap live is when the Rats do another London gig or a nearby beer festival!

Hope you go to St Albans too ArrGee - I'll be there. Looking for a fan meet up. Tickets were a little slow, but they seem to be picking up now, I hope. Now the word is out how brilliant Bob is live, maybe??

I'd be breaking my M25 rule . Whyteleafe was hard enough to get home from. I was prepared to go to Brentwood and St. Albans for the Rats, as they had the good courtesy to lay on 300 different ales prior to the show, but due to circumstances beyond our respective control, alas it was not to be.
Maybe next summer, Geldof, Cott and The Rats can all play a beer festival. There's one in Chelmsford next July... CAMRA Chelmsford Summer Beer Festival - 12th - 16th July 2012
The review in the Standard was very positive, and fairly promient. The only shame was the mention that it was "bafflingly under-attended" when there was barely a seat spare in the stalls. I can't comment on upstairs, but it looked pretty busy up there from where I was sat.
However you have to consider this reviewer's credibility and judgement given his preference of Duffy (whose Rockferry owed everything to Bernard Butler) over Adele
"Duffy's baggage-free outsider status blesses her with an air of authenticity a Brit School graduate such as Adele cannot eclipse." - Jan 2008
and his dimissal of Pulp as "a Right Said Fred with northern accents".
RE Pulp ' Right Said Fred with Northern Accents ' that must amount to one of the most ignorant, blinkered, put downs in musical history. Wonder how Jarvis reacted if he had read that comment?

He's too sexy to react .
There is a tenious connection between Pulp and Right Said Fred. In 1993, Pulp supported St. Etienne who had recently released an e.p with a couple of other acts on Heavenly containing their version of I'm Too Sexy with different lyrics.
AG come to St A & though I've a boring med cond that prohibits alcohol, I'll buy you a pint - deal? K
Beer. ummmmm. I'll have to get back to you on this. Cadogan Hall was a last minute impulsive thing. I only got the tickets the day before. My home life is a bit complicated at the moment.
