I discovered this was still hanging around some time ago. It is kind of suspended in the middle of nowhere in the ether and no-one moderates it.
Some of it is quite interesting. Still such a shame MJ's board went, there was some good stuff on there.
Personal Highlights
http://www.voy.com/101985/590.html - Natasha (whoever she is, sounds alright though) offers me a front row ticket and I don't bother! - though the missus may have wondered where I was
The continuing wait for the Best of CD - and you know what I still haven't got it! That'll teach them to not put House on Fire on it
http://www.voy.com/101985/1/337.html "Maybe he might consider doing something really useful one day like a Boomtown Rats anthology (on CD & DVD). " Wow, it happenend!
OMG ArrGee you found my very first post on there!! I posted that after I saw Bob in Oxford November 2002. I must have met Tina and Ian at the merchandise desk and got the website from there. And indeed the first of millions. Nice to feature in your 'highlights' ArrGee ha ha.
It is such a shame about MJ's board, that was superb, and there were a lot interesting discussions going on etc.
I remember that message board being full of nutters, stalkers and impersonators.
Man, were we p** off... I'd wanted to go with my friend Corinna and we found out the shows were cancelled three days before we went (and just by pure chance). Had hotels booked and everything, it was very annoying. Somehow, the history of cancelled shows seems to go back a bit...
I can't really remember, was this board parallel to a forum (weren't there a forum and a message board at the same time?), the forerunner of this one..?
That board was so many boards ago....I can no longer remember the chronology. I don't think it was the first one at .info, either. And yes, at one point there was a forum and message board (guestbook?) running at the same time.

I wouldn't bet against it happening again. Shepherd's Bush isn't exactly selling like hot cakes.
The MJ board did run in parallel, and was far superior. Before that, I don't know, I'm a bit of a newbie.
I only ended up coming to the 'Official' Geldof site, when the whole thing on the Rats re-issues started up in 2002 ( http://www.cyberspace7.btinternet.co.uk/faq.htm), and it had been a general source of frustration for a number of years. It still is, but at least most of it is out there. I think I sent Ian a few emails on what was happening and when, because there was a lot of mis-information; the best of must have had a dozen different release date in various guises.
Since the Official Rats site (and the more or less defunct message board) has been rarely updated in recent times, I came here a bit more.
