curb your enthusiasm - Eight series in and still making me cry with laughter. Larry David wasted too much time on Seinfeld, he should have started curb a few years sooner.
It's all pretty good on TV for comedies right now with Fresh Meat (the university years of an Inbetweener from the makers of Peep Show) as well.
I tend to watch documentories when I do bother to watch tv. Sometimes I can pick up cheap box sets of various comedy series but generally I'm out of touch with comedy. Did see Peep Show and that was good.
I think Seinfeld was really great and I haven't really taken to Curb Your Enthusiasm, having disliked the few bits I did see.
The box set of the Addams family, sixties tv series is my kind of humour and always makes me laugh. Georgie comedian Ross Noble is quite funny. Possibly my fav Irish comedian is Ed Byrne. Watching old Seseme Street clips on Youtube of the Cookie Monster or the obsessive Count ' I, 2. 3 , 4 HA HA HA is childish but always gets me.

Working my way through a MASH boxset at the moment which is great to see again. Also have loads of Only Fools and Horses episodes recorded recently which are classic! Have finished the Allo Allo box sets from last Xmas - but may well get some more this year! Sophisticated? Moi??
Have to say I enjoyed recent new comedy - Big School with David Walliams, mainly because Philip Glenister was so amazingly funny in it as the gym teacher. Classic end to the first series when there was a trip to France, and it was the teachers that got wrecked! Mind you, a little worrying in view of the fact that my son is shortly to go on school trip to Ypres ...

The Marx Brothers, though dating from the 1930 and '40's is funnier than most modern comedy. I think a lot of modern 'comedy' is really just an excuse to express various predjuces.Dads Army was brilliant, just great character observation esp Capt Mainwaring, the original little Hitler.
Jack Dee and Bill Bailey are wonderful and generally not offensive.

I had a day off last week and caught an afternoon repeat of Are You Being Served? There were so many double entendres it was off the scale. Mrs Slocombe was hilarious.
