Hi, are any of you also musical artists, fellow music lovers who also write and compose your own material?
Do you ever get inspired to write by people such as Bob?
I've composed a couple of songs that were inspired by himself. But I'm a great fan of the humanitarian as well as the muso.

Sir Robert's song with love:
To many years I tried to make the world more sane And too many tears I cried to wash away the pain
Well this life is hard enough to make it on your own And life's road is long and tough When you walk it all alone
Yet you are going nowhere If you never let go No you are going nowhere If you never let go
I found a sacred space to rest my weary soul I prayed the human race Will wake up and evolve
Cause one truth is all we have Live love - our higher plan So why then must I still bleed My wounds - from fellow man
And you are going nowhere if you never let go No you are going nowhere if you never let go
I heard a voice within An ancient harmony A song of sacred love The Call - of destiny
And this love so pure and blessed For one whose soul is free When self-sacrifice gives back It's eternal ecstacy
And you will never go there if you never let go No you are going nowhere if you never let go
You've got to let go You've got to let go You've got to let go, Control You've got to let go
So I walk along this path to bring to you my key It opens up my heart My truth, my mystery
And this love is all my soul The shining fire within When twin flames as one unite Sacred fire union - begins
And you will never know if you never let go
transition:
You want me, you watch me, you seek me, you feel me, in secret adore me, in passion entreat me to cradle you sweetly - but you fear to let go
You see me, you hear me, you call me, you breathe me, in dreams you merge with me you yearn to receive me, touch, taste, caress me - I'm yours completely
If you ever let go
Ohh let go Ohhhh let go Ohh let go Oh let go
And ah you've got to let go Ah, you've got to let go-- Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go .... scat vocal and wind/ instrumental then percussion to: ....
Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go (instrumental breaks - picky bits)
Chant (tribal style - phoenetic: He yanna ho yanna he yanno ho yanna ha, tuatha de denaan, tondi tondi parabidia)
Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go Octave scale up - peak then bring down and fade out Oh, you've got to let go Oh, you've got to let go

Sorry Tango - I'll send over the chords next time. I'd like to send you the original acoustic cut recording cause it has the kids in the village singing and playing in the background and the sound of the lake lapping against the shores - it's beautiful. There's a bit of a bassist thing happening with the "oh you've got to let go" and the rest is kind of jazzy soul blues over a wide octave range. I'll work the chords out with one of the guys at work next time he's in - he's in an Aus band but sustainable part-time too... as they've only just scored their first major label recording contract.
Ironically when I did a brief consulting for eBay in Aus - some of the guys from US just also happened to be muso's and we met up after hours and had a bit of a jam - ironic cause Bob hates eBay - but the people I've met are not so bad, and they would never sell charity products or allow those auction things to happen - that's more about "policing" the site from those who use it for no good.
Anyone else got any poems, words, prayers or thoughts they've been inspired by Bob - or do you just love to listen to his music, dance and feel ...
Hi, are any of you also musical artists, fellow music lovers who also write and compose your own material? Do you ever get inspired to write by people such as Bob?
One of them in a bit saucy (actually they both are) but there is deeper esoteric meaning behind them.
“La tua presenza Apre il mio polline Il mio polline galleggia Come I nostri corpi incatenati Come il lotus divino Ti incorona di piacere”
Yo, you is a cheeky little lady! but could ya translate for my Jeanne? she don't unda stand spanish like I does.
but yeah, I is inspired with da music and is a mix master and doing da humanbeat box now. I has done the music with super grass (is about ganja, respect), pulp, travis (is a tractor) , bonjovi and alfayed!

o, you is a cheeky little lady! but could ya translate for my Jeanne? she don't unda stand spanish like I does.
Err, it's Italian. Roughly translated
Your presence opens my pollen My pollen floats as our bodies entwine As lotus divine I crown you with pleasure
my lyrics are all a bit depressing really but heres some anyway Every time you touch her hand,You rip another line from the 'cut here' sign. In that moment when your close to her,My lips brush the barrel of a gun. They say best friends forever,So this must be the end. There's no 'I' in team but,If you closely you will find me. Waiting lonely,Waiting for you to return.
Bobi - G - ow, yo one bbbiggie jiggie jiggie now. Bambaclot. Iza not hanging here for no action elsewhere, Iza fallin outta ma tree an unda bad rat man Bobi smell. Now spk man Ize commin in pollination yo cross fertilisation, yo cross ze nation, bringin flowers to da masses, intoxicated by hes gases, Bobi Geldof get me rashes. splashes, coma suma pashion. Lil bo sam peeps he loser sheeps. now she sleeps. eternal. Selasie I. Iz iz Iz iz Iza no doin no reggae band no more my main is unda outta pants - but Iza hitting da break n bass beats unda accoustic soul. Meza thinks Missie Jon knowza lotta latin speak so knowza bout da nectar anda dew flowin outta pollini. Make er a cuppa luvvie. Boom bap.
Tango - that's deep. Hope the scars aren't real... You should do more... Do you have music to it? Do you play any instruments, sing?
yeah i play piano, guitar, bass guitar and a bit of drums too.and no the scars aren't real luckily.like i said there depressing but all my lyrics are really.i find it hard to write cheerful stuff
Yeah, its funny how a moment can sweep you away into a verse or a tune... and how often that moment can be filled with sorrow.
Impressive line up of instruments. What's your fav? Drums? I play a bit of percussion - djembe, some tribal but no good with a drum kit - prefer the little egg shaker actually. I learned piano, like playing guitar but not in public, and sometimes harp (mouthorgan in g) but I'm bit organic - my favourite at the moment is a reed flute that has only one tone. I'm not very good. I know many "experts" say this, but in my case its true. I like to sing.
Do you play professionally? The Half Moon in Putney has an Open Mic Night on Mondays (3 songs) you send in demo to Steve. Or there's Bakers Oven in Jubilee (Kashmir Club) Tues I think, and Dutch Pot near Shepherds Bush if you're wanting to be "heard" in London. All want originals only.
Here's another lil clova Lymerick:
There once was a man named Bobby Who wanted to try a new hobby
hehe.i play a bit of recorder 2.my fave is the bass.iv been playing it for 10 months and i'm pretty good and its an awesome instrument. i only play a bit of drums cos i just learn off my little bro.as i'm 14 i dont play proffesionally but i was have been in two bands, one of which we were together for a while and we played at a mini live 8 thing (there was a**holes playing there too tho but iv written about this elsewhere and it only makes me angry, Status Quo freaks).oh yeah and i played bass in bugsy malone with some guys from the that band which was a lot of fun but it did mean staying after school till 8, sunday rehersals but full days off school to practice (or mess around in our case, not very proffesional)
interesting line up of instruments yourself.iv got a few bongo drums but thats as organic as i get and i cant play them
But Chris down in Surrey who was producing/engineering their last album is very much a sweetheart - and talented accoustic guitarist, musician himself so they can't be all "bad" hehe. Much as they might like to think so... I find it quite ironic really that so many go at bands like those old p pot heads with comments like "the devil" and all that quack. Like people can still have this Victorian idea that if you play or like "rock" or "hard" music you're in league with Satan who just happens to be some old smelly dude with orange eyes and smoke and steam coming out of his ears. Like they're "naughty" school children who think that if you like sex and music - it means you can't be "spiritual" (for lack of a more apt word). These children are often in their forties and fifties, so Tango, you've got a long life ahead to listen to more whackers. Whatever you do - don't go putting that gun barrel in your cheek (in your song lyrics) and blowing the trigger - make the most of every moment, your obvious creative talent and tell the losers to go take a laxative. I wanna come and dance at your concert like the 80 year old groovin woman many of us shared the dance floor with in Bali recently.
I mean, it's common knowledge that the REAL devil advocate incarnates this age as a self gratiating little soft fluffy white bunny that hops around the world pretending to be loving and saving the world while working for the inverted decaying "System".
I heard this from solid sources: The Scientologists told me the prediction years back when I was 14, and later sources: Ghostbusters, National Lampoons, Jim Caery and most credible source The Holy Grail prophecy by Monty Python confirmed it... Not too much to do about moosic. But a lot of "look at me you poor suffering bastards while I fly around in helicopters hugging you for my popularity press and avoiding paying taxes with my charitable donations, while I complain about paying for a parking space and expect my clothes to be free from my favourite designers because I am so spiritually tight and poor to pay a little more and help generate consumerism and wealth for those on lower incomes unless it's good for my PR and my agent can use it to further my own personal image" Yeah, right, we can't see through it...
Thank "God" our Bob's not like that. What a man. What an angel of suffering alleviation and debt dropping. I was so inspired by him that I presented to him through his Company Directors (It was before Make Poverty History) a fair trade model that I've been working on with united international grass roots charities all continents around the world from Africa to South America for over ten years - worth several hundred million pounds in sustainable ongoing cyclic profit/funding to poverty and suffering alleviation, and supported and endorsed by people like Bob's mentor Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama, and Chief Arvol Looking Horse. Now we've launched the whole thing with magazine and e-commerce film media starting in Australia/NZ. We're coming to other countries soon. Thanks Bob for all your wonderful support - especially when we had 200,000 plus die in the Tsunami and another 9,000 in April earthquake. We're even putting a plaque up in his honour on the music media studio door. As Bob said (loosely) "show me the money... and I'll show you the honey". We are just one small international group of several thousands without the business infrastructure of major charity and non profit organisations, but we are committed to suffering alleviation and preservation of the planet for our children. I wonder how many others have been inspired to knock on his door? Don't believe him when he says "I put it in the bin".
Music brings like minded together - something politicians cannot fight against.
There's a great track out by Nine Inch Nails you'd prob like - its called "I want to fcuk you like an animal". Very reminiscent of Hutchence (dare I say this here - not as sensuous as I IMAGINE you to be anyway Bob from your photos - having never met you) in raunchy saucy gyrating pelvis type style and lyrics etc. but its the bass line that is outstanding - pumps, builds, and pumps more all the way through. Heard it Tango? If not, I'll send it to you via internet fm.
I'm geriatric 'babe' these days and need to take a berrocca and anti-oxidant mangosteen tea after a night and a half out on the dance floor or gig thing parte' but my student days never over - revisiting an overdue MBA study now. I have many talented little mates that get some great sounds coming out of the school yard... and the uni thing with underground radio. Great place to breed music! Whatever you do - keep going with ta music! What inspired you to visit Bob here? What about him/his music?
i love the rats and their a real inspiration.i was at the hull gig last night and it was amazing.we were on the front row and i could literally reach out and touch him if i tried.and johnny turnbull was wandering around for ages before hand.hes cool
haha.that would be immensely cool but i doubt it.sadly bob's got the flu which can probably be blamed for the cancellations.and pete screwed up beat of the night by having far too much fun with the synth pads and when they tried to do it again bob started laughing.they got their in the end tho
You never know Tango... sometimes "weird" manifestations happen in this plane of existence - and you are a Live 8 supportive performer - so you never know who you may be playing next to one day.
Good thing about live performance is that any "stuff ups" are not really that - they're just people getting it right on the night, and you gotta go with it. It makes the gig more real. Unless the "mixer man" has got it wrong with too much top or bottom and then that's a killer with the vocal instrumental match that destroys a good concert, so I'm glad he has a sense of humour and can let it go and just get on with it. Probabaly a sign of being a professional for a long time in the industry...
I like your signature Tangie. Kids ARE God. Just like the automobile, each new generation supercedes the old one and it blows me away the level of consciousness in the "youth" of today. That's why kids are cool to hang out with. You can learn so much. Yet "Elders" (crusties) have some wisdom and life experience to impart too - depending on how much they close themselves down over the years - so there's balance.
“I was driven thence by foul winds for a space of 9 days upon the sea, but on the tenth day we reached the land of the Lotus-eaters, who live on a food that comes from a kind of flower.
Here we landed to take in fresh water, and our crews got their mid-day meal on the shore near the ships.
When they had eaten and drunk I sent two of my company to see them. They started at once, and went about among the Lotus-eaters, who did them no hurt, but gave them to eat of the lotus, which was so delicious that those who ate of it left off caring about home, and did not even want to go back and say what had happened to them but were for staying and munching lotus with the Lotus-eaters without thinking further of their return;
Neverthe less, though they wept bitterly I forced them back to the ships and made them fast under the benches. Then I told the rest to go on board at once lest any of them should taste of the lotus and leave off wanting to get home, so they took their places and smote the grey sea with their oars.”

AHA.this ones only half a song, its not great and its a bit cheesy at times but it was one of them that just sort of , happened, this is with guitar chords, not got to the bass line yet;
he met wit a laydee, who said more dan maybe, and played around with his.... aye!!!! I wont tell my Jeanne about it if youse really really like it
Iza thinks u should no no no Bobi G - I am No no No "Star Hump or Band Matress":
I just like comin at ya with the music vibe As Muse I bring out the best in ya In soul I'll take out the rest of ya My sensuality Is linked To your mentality So no better you run away and hide Cos your heart knows when ta head has lied Find the answer in your jeans But it wont be mine obscene My personality Goes past Superficiality My desire to fill your dreams If ya were to make me ... sleep oh so sweet, in your arms I'd weep Unfolding natural passion scribe
Well, we all have our "off" days.
Tango. I'm going to print that out and play it. I like the lyrics v much. Back to web work now I guess.
Actually, there's nothing cheesy about your song. The words and structure are great.
You don't need to follow the old traditional structure of verse/chorus/bridge these days. Creative is just that!
On first view the chords - I like em and Am because my natural pitch is in the "flat" range - although I sing over all 8 octaves I'm best at mezze and can get some really ... really top notes. Why I prefer to BV rather than lead if I sing professionally - because I can just freefall. So even though I sing most styles (dang that opera) my natural persuasion is blues/jazz/soulish I guess. But saying that I like singing Sarah "Arms of an Angel" and some other folky stuff. Gypsy Dillan - like "one more cup of coffee for the road" and early stuff. And love to sing a Hendrix song and Hoo Doo Dolls. Van Morrison is another Irish favourite, and I cannot deny Sting and Bono, REM, Red Hot Chillie Peppers, Ben Harper, Michael Frenti, Bob Marley, Y'ssour N'dour - on and on and on for male artists.
I also love to sing traditional tribal music - and island influence being brought up on Kapa Haka and my boyfriend from Africa has been a strong influence on me musically - being a professional musical artist. Plus my charity base is a Christian community on an island in a Moslem country and we sing a lot of traditional cultural music which has been heavily influenced with early latin occupation and reggae and rock fits in with their culture so there's a lot of that influence - Bob type stuff etc. So often we sing gospel choir at church and the rest of the time play guitar and sing with tourists from most countries depending on what they like - just to share with them. Australia gives me a whole new influence as well. In the UK I sang Reggae and do Drum n Bass, House as well. I like studio, because I'm quite shy when it comes to music.
I'll try to do your song justice.
My lyrics "tribute" to Bob are a bit soppy - but that's because I always lead with my heart and we do similar work, although mine is much smaller and humble - being one of the common people. I am so overjoyed by the work that he has done - even though I'm also angry with him about something - I realise my own personal issues, and from a higher perspective that God moves through all people and this world is one of duality, plus we don't really know the deeper intimate Bob at all. Bobi G - well he's ... fun. Sometimes I think he just behaves in a certain way that must get amplified by the press when really he is not like that at all. Ironically, when I feel his "vibration" my heart chakra weeps with joy. Ironic because he wouldn't know what that means according to the press reports and quotes on his belief system. But that's fine - each to their own.
That's the difference of knowing some one intimately and not at all. I liked Paula though as an entertainer. She was great. I feel she was subjected to much jealousy and malicious gossip. That's what happens to people with low self esteem. Drug addiction comes later as a result to some - not the other way around. (Drug addiction also comes to those who resort to filling up holes in their life, when they should work on themselves instead - not that I'm anti, just believe in a balanced approach to life). She should have stayed with him, but many relationships I guess don't last forever on this planet - people mature and change direction. She married the singer not the humanitarian. Michael Hutchence I never knew really, but my flatmate did quite well. I didn't feel much for him either way - but I am a bit indifferent. I think Jeanne Marinne is very beautiful - I would have liked to see her more involved and supportive in his life as his girls are - but then who am I to comment - on the arrangement they have in their personal life. That is the voyeuristic aspect of celeb public life that I'm not comfortable with.
So issues are just something I let go of and move on with the work instead. There is lots of work to do and that is priority. But I wanted to come here and visit his site to see who loves him and why, and find out what fan clubs do.
I enjoy your music and your expression Tango. I think you should keep going with your talent and use it in any way you feel is suitable. Maybe what I think doesn't mean much compared to some of those famous people, yet I can say I know many many musical artists around the world, some famous some not - but that is not necessarily because all have tried to be famous - many are just happy to jam. All are talented and with something to express. It is the uniqueness that makes a statement rather than "copying" another or a fashion style.
Don't go getting depressed and pulling that trigger or slitting the knife. I've seen the results of those who do this and survive... For every down time you have in life there is always a lesson to be learned - something let go of and grow out of and come into a new and greater experience. I worry about the content of your words - not their beauty, for that is self evident. Perhaps that's the Mum in me...
Do you record at home - if so, send me a .wav file or mp3 and I will get to hear how you play and sing your song. And remember to copyright your songs - because you deserve to be rewarded for your creative achievements and not have them taken from you.
Anyway, that's enough from Agony Aunt.
If you feel like it, send me your article on Bob - maybe we'll print that in our mag. You're good.
aaw thanksi'm trying to get some kind of recording stuuf for the computer but its hard to get good stuff.you have a really wide range of styles and i'm impressed.you said what you say probably doesnt mean much but it does.i dont really get much recognition for my songwriting and stuff.i'll send you my geldof 1-1 interview which i did for coursework (which by the way is made up) but it's quite an ammusing read apparently. oh and i sorted out a baseline for the chorusy bit this morning
its all on the e stringso its
e----55555555--7--9--55555555--4--2
thats all iv got so far but i'll work on it somemore tonight
Tango, it's great - I'm doing my organic best to translate your song into some way you would wish it. I'm really so organiic I need to sit down and jam or listen to something though - but I've forced myself to learn a few covers (Bono "One" Gallagher Boys, Golden Days of Year of the Cat, Little Wing, Hotel California etc. - but I'm crap). I am touched that you will send me your 1-1 of Mr Geldof interview - we have an e-Zine international freebie that is going out in a few weeks. This one goes everywhere and is full of voluntary contributions.
This is coming out as a lead up to the Aus Mag which will go out - launch party around Easter I think.
We will publish it in the e-Zine under the "Bob's World" column. I'll make sure it carries a disclaimer - to say it is not a real interview (unless it is). We will need your real name and contact details and a small biog (just a few lines of who you are and what you do, study, music whatever etc) as well please (we don't have to publish any private details). A little photo would be good. People like to relate a face to the words on a page, I find, much as I hate using mine... I'll also have a dog's face (and I don't mind) because I'm doing "Mr Pierre's Urban Pet Scene" on the Aus mag for a while (I like cats and all animals, even real brrrr rabbits too - but we have a problem down under with an introduced virus because they have caused massive damage to the environment and native animals - they are a pest).
Sorry if I get too busy to write back soon. I try to keep in touch with everyone, when I go overseas. I'll be back in Sumatera soon so getting ready for that.
What are your songs Rekomakavics? (Do you have lyrics/song sheets for us to read?)
In case you are not aware of the publishing process. Editorial type people receive articles and reserve the right to "edit" them - this is to fit in with space requirements and what they require for content etc. So if she edits it, don't take it personally. I get edited all the time - even though I often write professionally. Thats because I dump everything down and can't be bothered checking grammar, editing and spelling till later. La z... as you can tell here - long winded drool about nothing. If you have objections to the article being edited or presented in any other form - write and let us know. You can view a proof before it goes out, to check it is in line with your original lit.
Just wondering got any chord charts to Geldof songs - I'd like to learn that multi-million loser song...
