I've just heard the album bonus track The Fields of Spring on Youtube and cannot understand why this track was not on How To Compose Popular Songs.
It certainly for me seems better than most of the other tracks so one wonders who makes these decisions, like having that silly joke hidden track rather than The Fields of Spring.
Well I did say before than Geldof can surprise when least expected, and I did say that I would like to hear all the 24 tracks he recorded to find some other hidden gems that those who know better may have overlooked.
Final word is that this track should definitely have been on How To Compose.
It is on the US version, along with 3 other songs. I've no idea why they weren't included on the UK version. The rest of the band said that some of the songs left off were better than the ones Bob decided to included???? We are getting little snippets of Battersea Morning but nothing else. What is the point?
Love the line 'Like a double Red Bull/ running through my veins'. Bob stooping for product placement in his songs.
Releasing an album is a bit like selecting a football team. Which songs do you ' play' and which do you leave on the bench? I'll have to look for those other US extra tracks on YouTube and see how they rank. Certainly am not going to purchase on Ebay. Will most likely end up buying the re release with the extra tracks at some stage.
